Grateful to: Staff member

I believe she is the guidance counselor. Tall in stature, however she makes it her daily routine to greet each student as the arrive to school. She has a pleasant, calm demeanor and every day carries a smile. She has a "good morning" and a high five ready for each student. When the children see her, instantly they seem to awaken from their still half sleep state of mind. She is the first point of contact and I am proud that my child is no exception with her.

Teacher effectiveness: Effective
September 22, 2015
My student's teacher is effective. She rewards the students for the efforts and achievements which is working superbly.

Amount of homework: Not enough
September 22, 2015
My student has come home with 4 math questions to solve as homework. In my opinion, this is nowhere near enough homework. My student is assigned 10 minutes of reading, should be at least 20 minutes allotting the time to recap for comprehension.

Develops respect: Neutral
September 22, 2015
How can a school develop respect in its students when the teachers aren't being trained or developed to respect themselves. The staff can de very disrespectful and its shameful that they aren't aware. I've seen more cleavage at this elementary school than at a college campus!!

Develops empathy: Agree
September 22, 2015
Some of the teachers appear genuinely happy to see their students and show the students that "I care" about you and your well being. Then there are some who, like another parent wrote, is just a pit stop and show no sense of caring or compassion for their students.

Develops honesty: Disagree
September 22, 2015
On occasion, I have witnessed interaction between the staff and children. Integrity is always skipped. The teachers are more than honest it appears but the tact is way off base. These are children, not someone these young staffers are hanging out with.

Not impressed with the staff. There is one in particular that deserves kudos. She stands out front every morning and greets every student with a smile on her face. Something the principal or asst. principal should be doing. Instead, the asst. principal snarls at parents, never greets anyone. It's no wonder the children don't appear excited to be there. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, I'm moving my child to a better school.

This school is terrible, DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL! This is not a joke. Principle Williams poorly manages this school. This school is just a stop pit for some of these staffers until they receive their next school asignment. Pushing programs and not teaching the children is just shamful. if you speak up for your child your labeled as a trouble maker.

My son goes there Im not very happy with the teachers. They have no control over the classes. Im not sure if the classes are to large for them or they just dont care. I actually set in on my sons second grade class and wittnessed the children disrespecting the teacher and and running around and the teacher did nothing.

My children are doing very well at this school. Last year they attended Mallard Creek and are doing much better at this school. I highly recommend it for anyone searching to give this school a chance!

My mom went there, my sister and I went there, now my 2 children are attending this school. There have been a lot of changes that I am not too happy with, but then that is not limited to Statesville Road. But Statesville Road is a fairly good school. They reward the children and keep them motivated and that keeps the kids wanting to go to school.

I have two granddaughters at Statesville Rd. My daughter went there in kindergarten and first grade. That was in 1994 and some of the same wonderful teachers are still there. They are very caring people and I wish we could lure more qualified people like them.
