Wonderful School. Great teachers and staff. Always welcoming. Principals and assistants are always involved whether it be in the car rider lane welcoming children to school or assisting at lunch time. I have no complaints.

Winecoff Elementary is where my kids attended over 10 years ago. It was a great school then, and it is still one that thrives on helping students reach success and achievement. The teachers work diligently to help students in all areas and subjects.

As a substitute teacher in Cabarrus County Schools, I have encountered numerous teachers and principals. The staff at Winecoff, teachers, administration, and support staff, all have a heart for the welfare of the students that is surpassed by no other school I've ever encountered. When I work at Winecoff, it feels like I'm working with family and friends.

I registered my K student today and I have to say, this school seems to be terrific. I know one of the custodians there and he said really good things about the school. The lady in the front office was very nice and everyone offered us help along the way. Great beginning for us at Winecoff Elementary School!!!!!!

Sounds to me that someone is stoking their own ego. I'm not surprised. If you want to know the truth look at all the staff that has left or listen to what people in the community are saying. Anyone can post here or as many times as they like.

I grew up in the Winecoff community and sent my children to school there. Each school is what each person makes of it. We had ups and downs through the years. It's like life you have to learn to work through each situation. I am very proud to say I went to school there as well as my children. The community is working hard to help support the students and staff at Winecoff. I love Winecoff!

I have worked at the school for more than 30 years and this past year was the best year ever. I worked at the old Winecoff and the new building. Parents and kids and teachers and administrators are all great folks. I love them and I love the school.

I have read some of the reviews below and I don't think I went to the same school. From what I saw some teachers were treated better than others. I saw some teachers treated very unprofessionally by the administration. I also saw some parents treated very unprofessionally. My child will be going to a different school next year. I was not impressed.

I disagree with the comment below regarding "being afraid to go to the bathroom and the community was gone." As a teacher currently at Winecoff, if you work hard and do what's best for kids, you'll love it there. After numerous resignations this year, our staff is full of dedicated and professional teachers- no more Debbie Downers! I am excited for August to come!

What a joke---that last post about morale and fear is totally absurd. Winecoff is the best elementary school around and everyone knows it. WES has the best students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Everyone knows that when someone leaves, there is a BIG reason why. I am thrilled with my kids, their parents, and our admin team. They tell us YES all the time, they pamper, and they do encourage us. Sounds like someone has sour grapes and may not even be at WES anymore. WES is terrific, great, superb!

The teachers I work with are amazing. We had a lot of change last year. I enjoy being pushed however, if you are not on the administrations good side you do not receive any support you. All I received last year was negative feed back even though my students were making growth and by the end of the year were all on or above grade level. I was also told by this administration that they are in charge and not to question their authority when I stood up for myself in a meeting with them. I also felt the morale of the staff was very stressed, we were walking on egg shells, and everyone was afraid to go outside of their room. One teacher actually felt she could not even go to the bathroom and got sick from this. The community that the staff once felt was gone by the end of the year and we were just individuals working together afraid to do or say anything. I'm hoping this year will be better but I am not very optimistic since 1/2 our teachers have already resigned this summer.

My daughter has just finished Kindergarten, and I am thrilled with the quality of instruction she has received as well as the encouraging atmosphere. Everyone at Winecoff from administration to custodians is focused on providing a fantastic learning community. The teachers and staff members are always willing to go above and beyond!

I have been a teacher at Winecoff for 5 years. I have to say that this has been the best year by far! Under new leadership we have increased test scores, parent involvement, as well as community support. Administration has created an environment that supports teachers in every way while pushing us to become better. I am proud to say I work at WES!

I have been teaching 27 years and I have to say that this past year was by far the BEST year I have ever had! The expectations were raised high this year, but it truly made you want to succeed. It was not a job this year, but a passion for teaching that made me want to go to work. The teachers showed a genuine love for teaching their students. Parents and grandparents were made to feel welcome in the classroom and the administrative team worked together to do what was best for students, parents, and teachers. The atmosphere was positive throughout the year. I loved how I felt appreciated daily and how I was constantly told that I was doing a good job. It was such a joy watching the students grow and learn as our test scores continued to rise this year. Winecoff really is a great place to work and learn! It truly is a positive and safe learning environment! Looking forward to what is in store for the upcoming years at WES!

Awesome! I loved going to school this year. I was sad to see the last day of school arrive. It's great how a new administrative team can encourage the teachers to be all that they can be and do all that they can do for what is BEST for students!! Loved how the learning environment was both positive and safe! Looking forward to another great year next year at Winecoff Elementary School.

Winecoff Elementary-this school has undergone a miraculous transformation! The leadership, teacher staff and support staff is very focused in making a difference in the lives of our youth. It is very visible that the staff morale has become more positive and teachers and staff come to a welcoming, inviting, and happy work enviroment. There is a wide variety of activities for children to be involved in, so that they are a part of a well rounded academic experience.

As a staff member with Cabarrus County Schools for the last several years I am so fortunate to have witnessed such a positive transformation at Winecoff. Our Principal is an outstanding leader that is constantly suppportive and doing everything possible to constantly reward us in whatever way possible. The morale within the staff is outstanding and everyone appears to be hard working and have such a positive happy attitude. This atmosphere is essential when educating our young and it is being reflected in our overall test scores. The change is amazing and I am eager to see what the future brings to Winecoff.

Winecoff has undergone such a change in the past year! New administration has given Winecoff a better direction and has increased the expectations of teacher quality. The test scores have gone through the roof this year, and students are learning in a safe and nurturing environment. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the teachers and administration at Winecoff.

Winecoff is a terrific place! The teachers are enthusiastic and keep the kids engaged. Students are always working on fun projects and use lots of technology. The halls are filled with student work. Teachers are highly responsive to questions and concerns brought on by parents. I can't say enough wonderful things about WES.

What a difference a new principal makes! Our school was at the bottom of the county in terms of test scores and now we've jumped to 3rd place in growth! Our new principal, Dr. James Davis, has really turned our school around! The teachers are motivated, students are making gains by leaps and bounds, and we are proud to have our children attend Winecoff Elementary School once more!

My son goes to Winecoff Elementary and it has been nothing but a positive experience. We transferred there after moving and am so happy we did. The teachers are caring and my son's quarterly testing is showing that they are great teachers, as well. In just one year, with a new principal at the helm, scores have skyrocketed and student/teacher absenteeism has decreased. If you haven't visited, you should. You feel the "family-like" atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door!

WES is a wonderful school with teachers and administration that truly have the children's best interest at heart. The teachers are very caring towards the students and each student is looked upon as an individual. The administration fully supports the teachers and staff and cares about parent concerns and input. There is a true sense of family and community at WES. Proud that my kids are part of that family!

Our son has attended Winecoff for 2 years. We have not had any negative incidents to speak of. The school is very diverse and it appears from my perspective, that it is very difficult to keep all the students in tune. Especially early in their education years (some are learning English as a 2nd language). Also the students that demand attention from the teachers for behavioral issues are definite distractions. Overall my son/we like Winecoff it but possibly for the reasons mentioned above, he is not being challenged. The teachers that we have had experience with in Kindergarten and 1st Grade are outstanding in their profession, just a very challenging group of students to educate.

This is the third year our oldest son has attended Winecoff. The school has always had a fantastic staff, but under the guidance and leadership of a new principal, the whole school culture has changed and we are nothing short of thrilled! There is an environment that strongly encourages more parent involvement, communication between parent, student, and teachers, and a partnership between staff, administration, and staff that puts the students first. My son adores his teacher and can't wait to share what he has done at school. He even shares frequent anectdotes about when his administrators visit his classroom :) As a parent, I look forward to being involved and love that they have created more opportunities to do so! At the end of last year, we had looked at moving our son to the STEM magnet school, now I'm glad we didn't move him. He has had three wonderful years with amazing teachers and we look forward to the school experience he will have in the upcoming years at Winecoff!

This school has been terrible. We heard that the Principal is leaving, so hopefully the new one can get a handle on the teachers and kids. Bullying is a huge issue, but they don't deal with it properly. They punish both kids, and do it publicly, which makes it even worse on the victim. The teachers do even less and seem oblivious to the out of control classrooms they foster. Yet the Parent group will send you a flyer every day asking for money. Money money money. I pray that the new Principal can make some serious changes at the school and soon.

Seems to me the issue with this school is they don't care. If it doesn't affect their money, their score so what. I am tired of dealing with repeated issues in the classroom, on the bus, etc. Some of the teacher's care but seem powerless as to what to do. Some just don't care. However, I see it as a growing problem of our country but that's a whole other review...

I think it is important to post because I agree that there is absolutely zero encouragement given to my kids . They are new to the school and there has been nothing but negative feedback from the front office to the teachers....I have no help with my son's situation the teachers obviously don't communicate with eachother and almost evrybody looks frustrated not a good example for our kids...This is truly sad

I think this school is an absolute joke! They care more about how much money they raise and not enough about our children as individuals. They only care about their 'score' as a school and not about the children as individuals. There is absolutely no possitive encouragement. They only foucus on catching the kids bad behavior and not enough focus on their good behavior. They have completely demolished my childs self esteem and spirit. I had to remove him from that school before they did any more damage to him.

This is my son's second year at this school and I hate it!!!!! The administration staff seems ignorant to what the teachers are doing. They have no concern for parent input, and when you ask anyone there a simple question it takes two people to give you an answer. I will say that everyone there is nice and polite, they just do not have it together.

My son just started at Winecoff, and couldnt love it more. They have afterschool homework help (new this year), new facilities, and my son is thriving! They even have a short person kitchen to teach them basic cooking skills, and a special classroom just for mentally and physically disabled students. The teachers are great, and communicate daily in his notebook with us. I feel involved, and he is stimulated. They are tested to find out the best way to teach them, and grouped accordingly. This is an incredable school!

I have a grandson that requires some help with his school work. The parents are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that. However all they are told is that the school is conducting test that will take the rest of the year to complete. They want to know now for fear that he may have to repeat this year. I can't believe that there is no after school program for a child to receive extra help other than seeing to it that his homework is being completed. The parents received a letter stating the child is doing well but that he may have to repeat this year. This makes no sense to me.I believe better communications is needed.
