Terrible principal, NO discipline and some students are given priviledges that others aren't privy to. Too many parents working in the school that are princials friends. I withdrew my child after freshman year due to complete chaois in that school. Defintely needs an administration change.

I just graduated from Ashbrook this year. I don't think I could have asked for a better high school experience. I never had a problem with administration and can honestly say that in four years, almost all of my teachers were outstanding. The school has a strong choral program which presents wonderful opportunities to students who are willing to work hard. Ashbrook seems to have gotten a bad reputation in the community, but this is largely unfounded and due to the 'problem' students that every school has. I'll be attending college in the fall, and can honestly say that my education and experience at Ashbrook has prepared me for life beyond high school.

I never once during freshman year of college felt overwhelmed by classes. That was because the education I received at Ashbrook. The principal was never really that effective, but the teaching staff are by and large dedicated to education, and they definitely went the extra mile for me trying to get into college. Extra cirrucular activities are great as well, sports teams and ROTC are vibrant.

I agree, the staff at this school is horrible. I had a hard time getting someone to return my call on several attempts. My daughteris a student there and I had to deal with name calling from one teacher and another that refused to talk to her because of what she now says is a misunderstanding. I cannot wait for her to complete this school.

I find that the administration is rude overall to students, and I find that they are not able to satisfy simple requests from parents. Also, traffic into the school is horrible. My child is almost late everyday, even after leaving early. After complaints about this, the principal simply noted that 'it is beyond her control and not her problem.' I am fed up with Ashbrook High School!

Overall Ashbrook is a very good school. It is sad that the good kids have to put up with kids who care nothing about education and are just at school to create problems. I think that many schools today have these issues. The teachers and administration try very hard to help kids that want to learn and the school offers many honors and AP courses. I do worry sometimes about safety; although you can avoid most interaction with the problem kids if you're in the top classes. However from time to time problems do arise that cause a disruption and/or lock down of the entire school. If Ashbrook could handle or get rid of these trouble makers it would be a top notch school. The school has good parental involvement and very good extracurricular activities. The sports programs have a long history and are always very competitive.

Ashbrooke used to be a good school until 2003. At that time, several students from other schools were allowed to come to Ashbrooke because the 'lines' were changed. Now, it has a lot of problems with safety. Teachers are very helpful, and try to challange us, but because of the changes we have had so many fights in school. I wish things were back to the old way again. The principal is great, and works well with kid's and teachers.
