We like the freedom we have, the teachers trust us. For example, we can go outside and be with our friends during lunch. The hands on learning is awesome. We interact with projects, and we get to do a lot outside. The teachers are nice, and they understand our needs. We like the extra activities we get to do outside of class.

I toured at almost every elementary school in town (magnets, neighborhood school, and private) before choosing GDS for our children. At GDS I found the right balance of a developmentally focused approach to learning that was still academically rigorous. There is no testing insanity at GDS either. While my children are in elementary school now, I'm excited about their participation in the laptop computer program in the middle school. GDS is looking to the future.

My children are loved and nurtured. They are taught to respect one another... bullying is not tolerated.

I really appreciate the school s emphasis on independents in regards to social, regional, religious or corporate affiliations. The students are treated with respect as individuals starting from the pre-K age and up. Discipline is enforced, but the learning process is maintained as non-invasive and non-competitive. Large campus is being outgrown by the present student body and is expanding. New leadership s initiatives seem to be working well adding more structure to this massive organization. Athletic and cultural facilities are very attractive and adequate. On the quite a competitive town s educational arena GDS is well worth the cost.

A relaxed environment with the best academics. GDS is both very friendly/personal and very professional. The teachers know their stuff and present material in creative ways that target students of all learning styles. The college counseling is excellent, and 100% of graduates go on to college. There are no uniforms or other strict rules, but there are few discipline problems. The laptop program and campus-wide wireless Internet for grades 6-12 brings current information, special activities, and mind-stretching projects to the classroom.
