Erwin Montessori and it's wonderful principal and staff were the best thing that ever happened to my son! He was loved, respected and helped when he struggled academically. We left the school in December 2010 with tears in our eyes due to moving. It was a loss for our family!
This is my daughter's 4th year at Erwin and I am very impressed. She had been previously enrolled in a 2 different private schools and I will be the first to say that Erwin Montessori is superior to both private schools. It all starts with leadership. The principal is fantastic - very personable and takes time to get to know the children and families. The teachers are outstanding. They do a great job teaching Montessori concepts and the state standards. The parent involvement is very good as well. I would rate this school a 10+++
This is my daughter's third year at Erwin and she is in first grade. Awesome school, principal, teachers, parent involvement. She is very happy there and her report card indicates she is being challenged and she is performing above grade level in all areas. She is a great reader. She works in the same classroom with second graders, who help her learn in the process. I highly recommend Erwin. I hope my youngest daughter will get in too when she is four. It's a lottery, so good luck if you intend to put your student there!
Erwin is a GREAT school. The teachers WANT to be there and are dedicated to the children. Parents are very active. It is a small school, so all of the staff know all of the children by name. All of the teachers and staff work together to meet the needs of each child. The principal is committed to the school and the children, and she encourages parental input. I had concerns about starting my son at an all-day school at 4 years old. He had no adjustment issues. His only complaint is when school does NOT meet for holidays and such. He loves his teachers, the staff, and the other children. He is enthuiastic about school.
