They have a unique awards program which includes a Terrific Kid award, which gives children the chance to be appreciated, encouraged, so that they can pursue fearlessly their interests without feeling they're not good enough.

Foust is the best elementary school in greensboro. I'm proud my children go there.

I think they would improve considerabily if they got a new principal. The one there only cares about herself. She doesn't take the time to deal with the important issues that relate to education, such as having to fight for teacher assistants. When I was there I was told they only had 1 teacher assistant. What is she doing with the schools money?

Julius I. Foust is a Title One School... Doing the BEST that they can. It's not easy to improve a school, especially when the principal has only been there just over a year. Cut them some slack. They are trying. And trust, there will be major improvements, particularly in reading, over the next year. Excellence Everyday!

This school and it's staff would have you beleive they strive for Excellence, but the truth is much different. They claim to care so much for the children, that they interfere in the lives of the familes of the students to the point of harrasment. I thought school was about education.

Julius I Foust is improving. All efforts have been made to make sure the students are learning. There is tudoring, Accellerated reading, great leaps reading progam and after school tudoring. The students are involved in student council, art, music, and science fairs are back. Behavior is a minimal problem. I think Foust is a great school with a terrific, focused, strong principal.

Overall this would be a relatively great school with the exceptions that the teachers and those others who are in authority do not talk to the children with respect nor do they value their indvidualtities. Because the school is mainly minority, it seems that the main purpose of the school is to find fault in the children, thus having to create special classes so that the school can receive additional funding.
