I'm a parent of a 2nd grader and this is our second year at Jamestown. Last year we had minor problems with the school but after getting to know the teachers and being involved in the school I am proud to say my child attends Jamestown Elementary. She is more intune with her teacher this year. They even offer a program called home field advantage where when I moved out of the district she was still able to go to the school and they provided bus transportation. I love Jamestown Elementary and we look forward to being there for the next 3 + years because I have a 3 year old too!!Sincerely, A very Satisfied Parent
My kids & I are new to the school and so far so great ! The teachers are outstanding! The principal is just wonderful.
4 stars. this is a great school
My grandson is in a special needs class at Jamestown Elem. which has been a disappointing experience! The classroom is a very sub-standard trailer which is falling apart, molded, and filthy . The Principal, Mrs. Flemming, puts no concern, pride or interest in the learning experience of these handicapped children. Mrs. Flemming will not return repeated phone calls of a concerned parent after a visit to the school, she is apparently not interested in solving the issues that are of concern for these children. They are treated as unimportant second class citizens. This Principal has not made it a priority or even a simple interest to get to know or learn anything about these children, their needs, their learning abilities or experience for the year. This is sad, & alarming. Linda Ellis
We have a brand new principal this year who seems to be leading JES toward a positive and bright future. I've been impressed with her willingness to make an effort to stop whatever work she may be doing to personally introduce herself to parents when they are in the building. I like her hands-on approach to teaching and her approachability. She is a breath of fresh air for our school and she, along with our high quality teaching and support staff make JES a positive and comfortable place for our two children to learn and grow.
Four of my children have attended JES. I absolutely love this school. We're in the process of moving and it tears me up to think of leaving. We have a new principal who is awesome. Our school and school system offers a great program for gifted learners. JES is very open to parental involvement. JES is also very ethinically diverse and children benefit greatly from such exposure. This school and community is 2 thumbs way up.
