What i have to say may be a little biased, but here goes! northeast, to me, was a wonderful school which had many open ended opportunities if only you are open to them as well. It is true that some of the books arent up to date, but not all. The teachers do a wonderful job, and we enjoyed the interaction with them seeing as we knew them so well. They knew how to reach us and could get on our level if need arose. They were always available for help duriing or after school. All in all, your child is taught well, but will only learn if they are willing...this applies to any school. You have to be willing to learn, they cant make you. And to the comment above, i attended NEA from K to 12 grade and the pleadge of allegiance is said during our elementary years daily.
I currently attend this school and I must say, it definately has it's positives and negatives. Books aren't up to date. The emphasis seems to be on sports. Many teachers aren't certified. I have an entire class where we've watched a movie for at least 3 months. We honestly don't do anything throughout the day. If you really care about knowing everyone then this school provides that. It's also a safe school. It just doesn't always do what it promises.
i think that northeast academy is a great school. they may not be the bset and up to date. its not only the subjects taught, i think the relationship between a child and their teacher is importtant. and this is coming from someone who lives there, and has been there since kindergarten. my father coached, so ive been around since i was a child. this is a great school. its something that you just fall in love with. the staff knows everyone by name and thir family.
Lacking in basics meaning up to date text books, library, yet can put in new goal posts, team uniforms, etc. Claims nonsectarian status yet HEAVY Southern Baptist teachings in subjects. Has morning devotionals but will not say Pledge of Allegiance. Refusal to teach evolution along with creation. Not well rounded curriculum. Teachers especially in jr and sr highschool are over extended and teach too many subjects, most they aren't specialized in. No world history, stops at civil war! Only one language taught, French. School needs massive structural and safety rehab, especially electric. Bare minimum subjects taught to comply with NC graduation policies. NO school nurse or equivalent or first aid kit. BUT, every teacher and staff knows your child by name and the school is like a close family with much emotional support for the kids. The staff works very hard on what little they have!
