I went to Eastern and was continually challenged academically by my teachers on a personal level. In 10th grade, we were reading and deeply analyzing material that other high schools in the county didn't present to students until senior year. Academic competition was tough at Eastern and I feel that this is due, in large part, to its proximity to several leading research universities. The skills I gained at Eastern prepared me to thrive at UNC Chapel Hill, whence I recently graduated. I did, however, feel that Eastern over-prioritized athletics at the expense of the Fine Arts, subjects that teach critical thinking through visceral, hands-on problem solving. These skills are absolutely essential in any scholarly pursuit and need to receive the funding and attention from administration and guidance that they deserve.

As far as high schools in Alamance county go, Eastern is going to be one of your best bets. It is probably one of, if not the most safe, clean, and academic high schools in the county. I graduated in 2012 and had a great experience all four years. The community of the school and town make it a great place for any student to learn. Obviously the negative responses to the school were given by ignorant, uneducated students/parents. Eastern is not a bad school. Every student will have a different high school experience regardless of where they go. You get out of high school what you put in. If you study, work hard, and get involved, you are sure to have a good experience. Eastern has a lot of caring staff and administration, whether some people think so or not. It's a good high school and should be given the credit it deserves.

I recently graduated and found this school to be a great learning environment. All of my teachers were very helpful, and as an AP and Honor student I was able to achieve every goal I had personally set. I feel that this school does prioritize the athletes and honors students, scholarships will hardly be awarded to members of this school, and that the CP kids fall behind. I was in the top 20 of my class and never recognized for my achievements. Personal achievement goes a long way at this school, and the student must have desire to succeed. Overall though I was happy with the education that I recieved.

I was a student at EA. I must say, I hated the school. The politics within the athletic department are absolutely ridiculous. Alot of times, the teachers play favorites as well. The classes are overcrowded and the school does absolutely NOTHING about bullying or rumors or harassment. I would never reccoment this school. People need to see past the glitz and glamour of the football nights and realize this school is just downright horrible. Only the rich kids make it at this school... everyone else is subject to bullying, getting accused of things they dont do, and even the teachers wont really interact with them. its ridiculous and no child should have to go through that. DO NOT GO TO EASTERN!!!

eastern alamance teachers have no interest in the student they tell there student they are going to fall and allow inadequate time for them to complete there work and there only excuse is there still going to get paid . the hallways and bathroom are disgusting. Some of the teachers are even unfair and chose favorites.

Because my nephews went there & I got to know some of the guidance counselors. They are excellent at what they do!! I also enjoy going to the football games there & seeing the band perform at half time.

EAHS has a high rate in academics and it's students are mostly well behaved. I belive that it is the best run high school in alamance county, and the safest.

I think Eastern Alamance is one of the most well run schools now in the state. The administration is visible at all times, involved, care about the children and take a proactive stance towards discipline while offering strong encouragement and positive reinforcement. I am proud my children attend EAHS and feel safe that they are there.

I am a parent and I do not like the way the teachers do not take time with the kids they do not check home work right they just make sure they have something wrote on there paper , even if it is done wrong it is still a good grade just because they turned it in.

As a grandparent my biggest complaint with the high school is that it is not clean. Carpet, restrooms, classrooms, hallways, entrance doors are in need of repair and more thorough cleaning. The middle school is an inviting place however.

The new 'block' schedule has provided the unique opportunity for our child to re-take Algebra I during the 1st semester and continue, on-schedule, with Algebra II 2nd semester. The block schedule has been a pleasant bundle of benefits! My children had struggled focusing on 6-7 subjects daily, and staying organized in each. Four subjects daily for a longer period of time has been of immense value to us. Also, the bookbags are so much lighter!
