West Carteret provides a great atmosphere for our teens, helping them to discover what they're good at. Everyone gets a good education, whether you are going to college or not. Outstanding music department and other extra curricular activities!

I love this school. All of the teachers are willing to help any student, even if they are not in their class. If the student wants to make an acceptable grade, they just need to study and ask for help. My math teacher stays after once or twice a week, and is willing to stay more when she is not busy just to help. There are some people who somehow get away with smoking in the a bathroom, but our administators take it very seriously, and the smoker (if caught) will regret it.

My son really loves this school! The teachers have been very helpful and the staff has been also. West does offer many extra-curricullar activities and my son is involved with some and loves every minute he spends at the school.

I am very unhappy with this school. I feel they over suspend students for the most minor of infractions. Causing them to fail and lose credits. I think it is wrong to mark a student absent when they tardy- sometimes only as the door is being shut. I found some teachers to be uncompassionate and not willing to go the extra mile to keep a kid from falling thru the cracks. Esp those students who need the extra help the most. It seems they want only those'perfect' students who are college bound.

WCHS is a quality high school. I have found the staff to be great. They are caring and give their all to our young people. There is always something going on at West. There is an extracurricular activity/program for every interest. Things can only improve with these fine educators in the classroom. Sherry Kelly

This school is a pretty good one... i've been to many and as far as the teaching techniques are concerned they are alright. I think this school could be upgraded if there was more parent participation!

This school can and will provide an excellent education if the student wants to get it. Many students leave with the equivalent of a half year of college or more. Curriculum integrated with local Community College as well as ample AP and honors courses.
