Relocating from Temecula, CA to Raleigh area

We may be relocating to Raleigh from Temecula, CA, a city about 60 miles north of San Diego.

We are looking for the best city for elementary schools in Raleigh. My job would be in Morrisville, NC so looking at the Cary, Apex and Morrisville areas. May look at Wake Forest as well.

We have a hearing impaired daughter who is mainstreamed and will be in second grade and a son would be starting kindergarten in the fall.

If anyone has any suggestions on schools and cities it would be great.

Thank you.

Hi btubbs1012,

Start here: http://www.greatschools.org/find-schools/

Type in the zip code and start reading the parent reviews. Then look at the school ratings, and it should start to narrow down your choices before you tour them.

Good luck.

Wake County Pubic Schools site (www.wcpss.net) has all the info on the new "choice" plan - complicated - but super popular elementary choices near Morrisville are Davis Drive, Green Hope and Salem (in Cary/Morrisville/Apex). Nearby developments are 15 yrs old or so (Preston Village, Wellesley, Brookstone, Westpark, many others). A family I know with a hear-impaired child has him at Green Hope. Also see www.ncbegin.org, a state organization for families with deaf and hearing-impaired children. West coast to east coast - big move!
