Ellen Parker, who is the head administrator and teacher at this school, bullied my child. She is a mean, spiteful, horrible woman who gets off on having control over children. Instead of teaching, she makes them feel bad about themselves. They kick slower children out to make sure they have a high grade point average for ratings instead of having compassion and actually teaching them. Worst experience I have ever had as a parent with a school. Never send your child here.
This is our first year at NHES. My oldest was at public school for 2 years and his teacher actually recommended NHES because the public schools cannot afford to invest in children who already excel academically. I knew NHES focused on the 'whole child' and was interested in that concept, but unsure what it meant academically. I'm a pretty tough customer when it comes to academics, and can now say without reservation that NHES's curriculum is top notch (Everyday Math, Reading Street, etc.). I also love that NHES recognizes the importance of PE, which is held 3x/week in addition to recess 2x/day--lots of opportunities to work off that extra energy! At NHES, my children have developed a love of learning, a love of and respect for others, a newfound self-confidence and are excelling both socially and academically. I would sell my house to keep my kids at NHES!
NHES is an outstanding elementary school. The teachers are wonderful. My children love their school!
I have had a wonderful experience at New Horizons. My children have learned so much and been very happy. The teachers are wonderful and the atmosphere is warm and nuturing.
New Horizons is a wonderful school. The take a whole-child approach, paying careful attention to citizenship, character, and academics. The focus on kindness and good manners makes it a safe and lovely place to spend the day -- my daughter loves it so much, she cries when she has to stay home. And the program is excellent; my six year old has better handwriting than I do! I can't recommend this school highly enough.
