A great school and a nurturing, safe environment for students to learn. We've been very happy with the school and our son is enjoying his days there. We came from NY where our school was not safe and nothing was being done to fix the situation. If you're moving into this area I would tell you that you'll like the school system and the teachers.

For a small town school Ashville does a pretty good job. The teachers are very approachable and most are very good. The students have music twice a week, but it is rather uninspired. PE is also twice a week and that program seems to be doing well. The art teacher is very good however the children only receive art lessons 3 times every nine week quarter so a total of twelve times a year. This is disappointing. There is no diversity in the teaching staff and very little in the student population. The school offers a reasonable number of extracurricular activities such as book club, Say No To Drugs and math for parents. There is also an excellent gifted learner program for students in the first through fifth grade. Academicly, the school is alright but I feel the curriculum could challenge the students more.
