Bedford school district has become a huge joke. I feel the teachers are babysitters, some not very good at that. but they are unable to put their knowledge to use and actually educate the students. I am a graduate of Bedford and have watched the school system go downhill. I stayed in Bedford because I wanted to send my two children through the school system that I thought was great. I now think I have hinder their education. I do have one child in college and she is doing very well not because of Bedford High Schools academics, but because she could challenge herself to do well. In the last three years for my youngest the instruction for her future and her present education has been limited. All of these "productive changes" such as standardized testing and dress code are not going to prepare students for a higher education or real life. I thank God that this is her last year in the school system!!

I would have rated Bedford a high 3 during my first two years of attendance. By graduation ('98), it would have rated a generous 1, only because half a star apparently isn't an option. I witnessed firsthand the beginning of the end with the hoards of urban youth piling into/out of the RTA (city) buses out front. The district's continued permitting of inner city/out of district students to attend Bedford City Schools is solely to blame for the rapid, and very sad, decline of its district.

I used to think Bedford High School was a good and safe place to send your kids to get a quality education. That changed in a hurry. This whole school system is pretty much a joke anymore! Its not the teachers fault at all, its the complete carelessness on the students' part and parents failing to get involved. Never send your kids here anymore!!

The faculty at staff at Bedford High School are actually excellent teachers and mentors. They are dedicated to furthering your children's education - the problem is the students. Many of them are from other districts, cheating the traditional district system and making Bedford look like a complete failure as an educational system. I graduated from Bedford and I feel like I was well prepared for my future at college and am currently succeeding in my engineering studies.

Out and out terrible, no other way to describe Bedford! Now they are asking for more money! What a joke! I had to pull my kid out of the school system in the 6th grade, and now is doing wonderful. The reviews say it all, not too many people are happy with the school system.

I took my children out of this school 3 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. My oldest was picked on for being the only white child in class and her grades showed how she could not concentrate in school. The kids were out of control I would volunteer all the times and even the little kids were rude and swearing and talking back to the helpers. I was so done after that year. I am not prejudice but come on there is no control anymore.

Bedford High, was before a fairly decent school. Both of my aunts graduated and furthered their education but now, its very ridiculous. Being a student who has lived here for my whole life has seen it gone down the drain. The faculty and adminstration are just not doing there jobs and also it is correct there is a very limited amount of extra-curriculars besides sports. I dont think that the school is preparing me for college nor being out in the real world. It isnt as diverse as it was before and I think its ridiculous how the students began to take over.

This School, and the School District are terrible. The principal don't have a leadership with students. If I was you , I NEVER put my kid in this school or this school distric. The students are out of control and don't respect each other or the teacher. As I said I will think a thousand times to put my kid in this school or school district that have Bedford. Is a disgusting example for all and outsiders for the Cuyahoga County and Ohio. They should take immidiate action about what is happening to this school and school district.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Teachers cant take control for some reason, half the time they act like they have no power! Get on it faculty and staff! The guy that said 'The course selection at Bedford is joke', is wrong. The school offers many good courses, and there is plenty to do if you are not a sports person. The downfall though is the faculty. Disgusting example of leadership.

The course selection at Bedford is joke. I think they aim for average. My main concern right now is college and Bedford just is not the kind of high school that would make the chances of me getting into a good college any better. There is a lack of extracurriculars as well. If you don't play a sport theres not much else for you to do. Most of the students simply act like they don't care. I applaud the faculty that still manages to put up with the rotten atmosphere. Bedford needs to do better.

Bedford High School could be an excellent school if the administration could learn how to control the students. The school has so much to offer with its excellent curriculum and extra curricular activities. I would hate to see it all go down the drain with the way the students are taking control of the school. Come on administration. Take control and make the school great like it has the potential to be.

An EXCELLENT school system! I graduated from there and I loved it. I admit that I didn't take full advantage of all it had to offer, but I still feel that I received a great education. There are so many things to get involved in and learn. I do think that they could use improvement in their residential requirements. There were a LOT of people who were not from the district using someone else's address, and those kids were usually expelled students from another school due to behavior problems. That brought the testing scores down quite a bit, but is a reflection of the students, NOT the teachers, who are WONDERFUL and very dedicated.
