Chagrin schools are complacent and reluctant to change. They teach to the test and as a result score well on state tests, which in turn leads to their over inflated reputation. They do not expect the child to think and become an independent thinker, merely to learn by rote. In addition their teaching method does not allow the more able child to reach their full potential. Frequently the curriculum is dull and stale, and consists of worksheets and assignments that have been handed out for many years [15+]. The school district is not open to new ideas or indeed any criticism from parents. There is a well known unwritten rule within the Chagrin community 'Do not criticize or complain'.

Chagrin Schools is blessed to have great families. Almost all families have two college educated parents many with advanced degrees. They score wel on state tests as do most middle upper class white families. Serves the gifted student well but does not produce National Merit Scholars and limited entries into top schools. WHY? This is a question they cannot answer. The classes are set in stone and are repeated over and over. Not a lot of innovation. Is this the reason they have the same result each year ?

It was a fantastic place to attend high school; I learned a great deal in a wide variety of subjects from some unmatchable teachers.

As a parent I can tell you there is no other school in the Cleveland area that I would rather send my daughter. The school is very well respected, the campus is beautiful and safe, but more importantly the education my daughter is receiving is top notch.

Chagrin Falls has a great school; the only problem is the monstrous loads of homework, which is very stressful for many students. Expectations for after school work and activities leave little time to just be a kid, and takes a toll on parents, too.

Chagrin Falls High School is an excellent school. My son attended this school before we moved to California. Once again this year it made the Newsweek Top 100 schools. It has a grassy, large campus, and the academic programs are great. There are many diverse electives to choose from, including photography and computer graphics. There is also a great athletic program, which includes all the major sports (football, basketball, baseball, soccer, la cross, golf, tennis, cross-country, track and field). The adminstration is sensitive to parent concerns and excellent at problem-solving. The families in the area are friendly and involved. I highly recommend this school

I went here. It was a wonderful school. There is an exceptional sense of community and as a result this is one of the best schools in Ohio.
