Amazing school, caring teachers, and staff. Various options for after school care and Master Davis' karate program won nationally. We feel like we hit the lottery!

this is not a true montessori school. there are multiple classrooms with teachers who who are not equal in quality.my child loss a sense of self because of the fear based teacher instruction. everything is reward and punishment based. my child had always been a self motivator and never needed rewards to be motivated, this is a very public school in that manner. i would have love to switch my child to a classroom that has a more compassionate teacher but being this a public school that is not even an option. it is the luck of the draw. i have never heard one positive thing about the 9-12 classes. there are very few options for a quality public education. this school did not resonate with my deeper values i have for children, empathy being at the top of the list.

We left an expensive private school to come here and couldn't be happier. What an amazing school! The staff is compassionate, the schooll is well organized, and the academics and extracurricular choices are fantastic.

my children have been attending sands since preschool and i love the school! The teachers are wonderful and very helpful and i like how they can pen point the strengths and weakness of each child in their class since the students spend 2 to 3 yrs with their teacher in the same class. I have a special education child and they are wonderful with her.

In visiting the school there is a special feeling right away and in observing the children it's plain to see that they really care for one another. The faculty is warm and nurturing and deeply cares about their students. The principal has done a great job in transitioning from the old school building to the new one which opened this year. The school has a very active Parent Organization which does so much on behalf of the school and its students. I could go on and on but I think the main thing is that it's a school of caring!

Sands is very culturally diverse and has very talented and unique families with children who succeed very highly in academics, music, art, and sports. There is a very unique sense of peace, organization, and knowledge that lingers throughout the staff, hallways, and classrooms. My daughter attended seven very enlightening, successful, and memorable years at Sands and there is no other school quite like it! A very good fit for families who appreciate the arts, individuality, world peace, and appreciation to "follow the child" at their own learning pace.

A wonderful group of involved parents, amazing teachers and staff -- and an amazing new building! Most of all, I am grateful that, in addition to reading, writing, math, etc., my children are learning to work cooperatively with their peers, to help others, and to accept help when they need it.

Sands deserves this award because my 3 children are learning to be self-motivated, curious students with a broad world view. They are all different in learning style and Sands allows them to thrive with a custom teaching curriculum that meets their individual learning level and needs. The diverse parent community includes familes from all across the city from a wide range of racial and socio-economic backgrounds. We are committed to the school and the kids. Our school is an example of the best in public education. We also have an amazing principal who has been devoted to the school through thick and thin over many years. She came out of retirement to guide us through a complicated new school building process. Her experience took us through many important edits to allow Sands to follow state wide guidelines and remain true to montessori method. We are thrilled to have Sands, the first public montessori school in the U.S, in Cincinnati, Ohio!

Sands Montessori is a great learning community, where everyone is like a family. The teachers teach in interactive methods that really get their students excited to learn. The family environment helps teach children to be comfortable with approaching their teachers and asking peers for help, which helps them succeed later in life. I went there for 9 years and I still go back to visit old teachers and volunteer with students!
