We are exceptionally pleased with our daughter's education at Saint Joseph Academy. They not only provide challenging academics but as a school of faith and values they do an excellent job making all girls feel welcome and work hard to build community amongst the girls. The school has a very supportive atmosphere where the staff and the girls themselves encourage each other to thrive. After looking at several all girls schools in the Cleveland area we found SJA to be the school that allowed for the most opportunities for our daughter to participate and excel in extra curricular activities such as sports, the fine arts, and student organizations. We have also found that they have an exceptionally strong commitment to social justice. The school has brought in several progressive speakers and programs that address the issues and needs of young women in today's global society. We love SJA!
SJA is very underrated and appreciated. Many people I know who do not go to the Academy think it is easy and everyone there is weird. That is not the case. First of all, everyone is friendly, caring, and unique. All my classmates are wonderful people and I would not trade them for anything. Also, our classes are challenging. Many, many students, including myself, are involved in honors classes. Students actually get competitive grades, and honestly, I do have a good chunk of homework every night, but I can feel it making me smarter. Another way SJA helps me is that our theology classes are spectacular. They make us closer to God, and we actually learn a lot that I had never known before, such as what qualifies a mortal sin, the differences and similarities of the Gospel writers, many other things some people just overlook. In summary, I love SJA!
An excellent education that emphasizes academics, social justice, extracurriculars and volunteering. The principal has recently launched a visionary effort to ensure that the students are prepared to succeed in any career by offering more classroom exposure to advances in technology. Students have the opportunity to take courses such as Chinese to assist them acclimate into the 21st century's world economy. My daughter is a junior there now and while she is not an athlete, she participates in many activities that have helped hone her leadership skills. It is a truly nurturing environment, yet challenges the girls to achieve their personal best. Parents are very involved. The teachers and administration want the best for each student and the ones I've encountered are willing to work with any student to help them reach their goals. We love it!
St. Joseph Academy is a mediocre excuse for a Catholic high school. It does not live up to its prestigious reputation, and certainly isn't worth almost $8,000 a year to go there.
A truly caring environment who supports the efforts and talents of all students. SJA works to develop leaders amongst the students.
SJA is a place like no other. All of the teachers and administrators care about what you do and what is going on in your life as well as your studies. I really love going to St. Joe's and can't imagine life at any other high school
SJA is a fantastic school! Under the combined scholastic and christian stewardship of the school, my daughter has blossomed into a wonderful young woman. The school offers many and varied activities at the school from faith-based to physical and volunteer activities. It fosters personal growth and development.
St. Joseph Academy is a wonderful place. You meet many great people (and yes..this includes the teachers). No matter what, you will always be able to find someone to talk to about anything. You can become very comfortable with yourself in the all female environment as well (no guys to impress, no 'popular' group). Finally, the block scheduling is awesome! It really gets you prepared for college because many universities have longer classes. I had a great time in my years there!
