Hope Academy is a very good academic and safe school for your child. I have two children that attend Hope Academy, they're in their second year.

the teachers are hands on and nice to others.the students are friendly to i went here since 5th grade n i graduated and i am currently going to one of the best schools in the city. i owe it all to my teachers and staff

Overall, this school is terrible. While there are several exceptional teachers, collectively this school is performing low. Northcoast has been on academic watch for over 4 years now. The average student is at least one whole grade level below the state standard. The evidence is in their scan-tron tests and OAT scores. If your child had a good teacher then you are one of the lucky ones, but it won't happen every year.

My daughter attended this school for the 2008-2009 school year for kindergarten. Her teacher Ms Eddy and the aide Ms. Woods were great. My daughter can read chapter books, add, subtract, tell time and count money.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten. She is now in third grade. She passed the proficiency test in the fall... the one they used to determine areas that needed improvement. She has excelled beyond that and is above grade level in each subject. I really liked the lower grade teachers. Specifically Mrs. Eddy. She was outstanding and instrumental in my daughter reading so well. She could read CHAPTER books in kindergarten! I would like to see more extra curricular activities and also gym. I just don't like the idea of K - 8 in the same building. The older kids seem out of control at times. Academically though, my experience was wonderful.

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
