Granby consistently evaluates children and provides them the enrichment and/or reinforcement needed to be successful. They always show the students how much they care about each of them by giving them time and attention.

Granby Elementary is an amazing place to learn! The teachers and staff are not afraid to get down to the students' level and have fun!! They constantly evaluate students to be sure they are being challenged and/or getting the reinforcement they need. Students receive good, quality instruction each and every day they are in school.

I want to express how grateful I am to the Worthington School District and particularly Granby for the excellent job they have done with my son. He is ADHD?ODD and the BLC or behavioral learning center ran by Mrs. Olney and her team are awesome. My son has shown so much improvement since the beginning of the year she gives them great motivation to become more obedient and cooperative. The Worthington teachers CARE about your childs success something that is rare in these days and times.

This has been an execellent school for my special needs child. The teachers are patient and caring. The principal has always addressed my concens promptly and professionally. The kids love her.

Great school fostering individualized education when necessary. Caring teachers and fun, nurturing environment. Not thrilled with the Principal, though... seems over-anxious and controlling and resistant to teacher/PTA ideas. For the most part, she is OK, probably just adjusting. Big shoes to fill (previous Principal was awesome).

Granby has a wonderful PTA that provides a lot of support to school services. There are a lot of parent volunteers. Teachers are excellent and value open communication with parents.

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
