George H Gerke Elementary School

I find this school completely lacking, after the worst parent teacher conference I had ever had for my 6th grade son( so I have been to a few). At the conference the teachers admitted they call my son names, he is terrible in class and shows no respect . The teacher said to my face she would be a B if she had to be my son has told me she curses in class before, and I thought to myself he was mistaken after the conference I am sure he was not. I never received a call or any letter email nothing about his behavior, maybe the teachers were scared their own behavior would then be called to light. The communication between teachers and parents is well there isn t any. I asked the teachers to call any time I am always available, they said they don t have time to follow up with everyone. I have a daughter in a lower grade whom doesn t complain yet school is always okay. I haven t had her conference yet that s tomorrow.

My child attends Gerke. As no school is perfect we have had nothing but a wonderful experience. Expecially now that there is a new principal.

I entered a child last year for 2 months at the end of the school year and was disappointed how little they offer. Our son needed services for learning disabilities and they have none. His IEP needed to be revised and it was never done. They basically blew it off and he was ushered off to the middle school. Very disappointed with Franklin School District! I will be sending my children to private schools in the future.
