I think the teachers have too much power and do not really care about the kids, Just the next raise and how much money they can make. Look at the pay scale for teachers, wow!!! Been this way for years and I thought it would change with the new principal. I guess not. Stay away from this school.

the favortism really needs to stop. All the kids should be treated equal regardless of who they are, their family reputation, their skills, etc.... Other than that it's a great school, a safe environment.

I love this school and all the staff. You can tell that all the teachers and staff really care about the kids. I disagree with the person who wrote the review that says the new Principal doesn't care about children. I also have 2 kids at the elementary school and love all the things he's done so far. We are very lucky to have him. My children love him and we see him out in the community all the time which shows he not only cares about the kids but our community too. I think our school is headed in the right direction with him as our leader!

I have 2 children who go to this school. The staff is great and very helpful. The new principal is not as good as in previous years. Very concerned with statistics not children. I am disappointed in the direction he is leading the school.

I have 2 children who attend Danbury. The teachers are very caring and professional. The principal is somewhat different. Not sure that he cares about children, just numbers to him. I was hoping for a better choice. I am worried about the direction this school is heading.

I love this school the teacher's are wonderful and go out of their way to enrich our childrens minds. The new princpal is wonderful. I think it is great that he has children in the school. The classrooms are far more advanced than most classrooms ive seen. Not only do they have the Smart boards in every room the children have access to desktop and lapttop computers. The school is very small in size with alot of heart. Class size is good with just the right amount of children per class. I can not say enough about the teachers' that I have had expirence with personally. Home phone numbers, cell numbers provided so if I have any concerns. I fell that I can talk to the staff about anything with my children's education!

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Ohio used the Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. The OAA is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Ohio. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests

Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
