Medill Elementary School

I am happy with the teachers they are the best part of the school but the office staff and principal are some of the most unfriendly staff I have met. We had an issue that needed to be address to the principal herself but she refuses to return my call. The teachers are to deal with the problems not her. Then the Secutary was very rude to my son as I was 15 min late picking him up from an activity that he is in only once a week and I have always been there on time. If it was not for the teachers and the wonderful job that they do we would have pulled them from the school. Also they do not get a full meal when they run out of food that is it my 5th grader has ended up only having a hot dog and milk for lunch.

My son currently attends Medill. Unfortunately he will be leaving, as my husbands employer is relocating us out of state. I am finding this site and parent comments very helpful while trying to find a new school. I hope my review can help someone else. Medill is an EXCELLENT school. The teachers and staff are well trained and very much down to earth. They care about these children so much I feel that there is nothing they wouldn't do for them. Their technology is is up to date and academics are of the up most importance. My son has been in kindergarten for 92 days and he is READING! This school is also very much oriented around parental involvement. They encourage parents to voluteer as much or as little as they want and always make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants a quality education.
