Thomas Ewing has really changed now with a new principal. I love it here. Mostly because of my new teachers and i love my new classes. The teachers i have are ah-mazing and very helpful. Right now i really don't mind going to school. (:

I go to Thomas Ewing and I think there has only been two fights which didn't even have anything to do with me. As far as rules I think it's a good school and there are really good teachers.

I am sorry to say but i hate my school. Here is like one of the owrst school i could possibly go to. Here there have been several fights and I feel unsafe. I have asked my mom if i could transfer schools in the bigining of the school year. I thought going to a junior high would be fun and like an adventure but i was really wrong. Our principal if one of the worst principals you could have because she tries making us feel safe but never succeeds. Somtimes I just wish I had went to Sherman, even if it means leaving all my friends.

I am currently a student at Thomas Ewing Junior High and the enviroment there is terrible, and I have witnessed 4 fights myself. Out-of-school suspensions and In-school suspensions are given daily and we don't have one day where we can just relax and say that we're happy to be here because we aren't. You can ask any kid that goes there and they will say that they don't feel safe there. The principal is in no way the right principal-type person. Her leadership and way of handling problems are promised but they never happen. Keeping us inside a stuffy school for about 8 hours is part of the problem because we get so jittery and hyper that we can't pay attention because we want to go outside so bad. I am truly upset and embarrassed about my school's principal, teaching styles and overall status.

I am a student here and I must say that I am not impressed. For one, there is no recess and I am jittery all day and this also causes bad behavior gets worse because we have no outlet.Even lunch peroids are expected to be very quiet. Also the principal gives no motivation for good behavior and jumps to conclusions.

I went to TE and loved it. My daughter goes there now, and I am not so sure I like my 6th grader mixing with 8th graders. There is a huge age discrepancy going on here.

Thomas Ewing is a typical school, having its own football field, and other extracurricular services. But i believe Ewing has deteriorated over the years. for example, in the gym, there used to be a mural, portaying sports. Now, it has been replaced by a white, blank wall. Also, funding has gone down the drain. Another example, Mr. Larabee, a well known science teacher there, had a weather station set up in the school's library, to help students learn about the weather. The station is still there, but isn't in use, and the display is covered.

I have a 12 year old attending Thomas Ewing. My son is a typical child. He is active in sports and plays on the football team. My only 'real' complaint is the principal. My son has been beat up and bullied all year and each time he is beaten it is always by an 8th grader. The principal is from Columbus Public Schools and seems to have a problem with my son because he is from Columbus. I do not like the way she is handling the situations. She always takes the other child side in an arguement.
