If you have a child that struggles academically, this is not the school for you. Teachers are not held accountable, the school lacks for academic leadership, and there is no commitment to attract and retain highly qualified teachers. True, there is a waiting list for most grades, but that has more to do with it being the only Catholic school in West Chester/Liberty and less to do with academic strength. Parents and boards members are at fault for drinking the kool-aid and are blinded to the real challenges of this school. Primary grades are strong, but once you get to middle grades, the issues rise to the surface. Many parents send their children because they don't feel that they have a better alternative. I want the best for this school, but they need to wake up and tackle their challenges head on.

This school is one of the best draws to the Liberty Township/West Chester area for parents looking for an outstanding Catholic education for their children. With a full school of 450 students and wait lists for any open spots, the school draws its strength from its principal, Sister Anne, its faculty and the family community. This school was built through the hard word and endurance of its families and the name Volunteers describes not only the parents but the students as well. MTCES graduates have received scholarships to high school and several of its first class of 8th grade graduates are Merit Scholars as well as college scholarship recipients. If you are looking for a world-class catholic education for your children, this is a school you should seriously consider.

We have been part of the MT community for over 10 years and we have 8 more years to go with younger children. I couldn't imagine my kids at any other place. Not enough can be said for the community feel and the friends our kids have made and kept each and every year and then on into high school, There are some incredible teachers that truly love what they do!!

MTCES has definitely exceeded expectations both spiritually and academically. MTCES is more than a school, it is a community of students, parents and faculty. Also MTCES has a great pull out program for gifted students. This program exceeded our expectations beginning from first grade.

My daughter has attended Mother Teresa since its 2nd year in existance. It is still a very tight knit school and you get to know all the families through volunteering and activities. The education has far exceeded my expectations.

This school currently has students from K through 7th and will add 8th grade next year. It is now located in Liberty Township. It is a private, Catholic school where the parents are amazing volunteers and this is done in the tradition of Mother Teresa. The teachers are exceptional and there are many clubs and athletics to choose from. The principal knows every child by name. No doubt that this school is an outstanding place for children to learn and grow.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
