Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Sherman is a great school. It is a large school and that allows for lots of diversity. Regular education classes this year (2014-15) are in the 18-25 student range. Homeroom teachers are thoughtful and professional, offering individual/small group instruction for children as needed. Data trends are used to plan for instruction. Gym, music and art teachers are dynamic and fun. Many special education classes add to the diversity and the level of differentiated instruction in classrooms. Office staff is helpful and principals are solid, caring and knowledgeable. Several staff members bring their own kids to our school from out of district. This is a welcoming, safe and diverse learning environment any family could feel good about.

Sherman has been a great school with wonderful teachers and staff. I saw my oldest daughter excell and am now seeing my youngest do the same. Both have loved Sherman. The teachers go over and beyond to teach the children the things they need and care enough to help them with other issues that they may be dealing with. Miss Moyer is a great leader and shows the children that they need to have respect for everyone around them. That is a hard thing to do and I commend her for that.

My son had tremendous difficulty at his previous school because they refused to test him for an IEP. Sherman Elementary immediately ran the tests and got him into a special education class. He has been more successful in the past six months than he was his whole first year and a half of school. I give Sherman's principal and staff two thumbs up!

I am not a parent of any child at Sherman school but I am a student teacher, I have been welcomed very happly and I have to say that this is the best staff that I have ever worked with. The staff all work together and very hard to meet the needs of all the children in the school and to meet state standards.

This has to be the worst school in the mansfield city school district, too many children, few quality teachers, and the administration is a joke, just take a look at our test schools, like we said that says EVERYTHING!

our school is extremely over crowded!!! Teachers seem to only be there for the paychecks not for the quality of education they could provide if they cared enough. Our faculity seems to have problems with labeling children and not giving children a chance to prove themselves. The children in this school are overlooked, not listened to and getting a poor education. It would be educational to actually test the children to see what level of work they can do to they actual grade this school has passed them through to! I agree with the other parent, our test scores show EVERYTHING.
