Sherman has been a great school with wonderful teachers and staff. I saw my oldest daughter excell and am now seeing my youngest do the same. Both have loved Sherman. The teachers go over and beyond to teach the children the things they need and care enough to help them with other issues that they may be dealing with. Miss Moyer is a great leader and shows the children that they need to have respect for everyone around them. That is a hard thing to do and I commend her for that.
My son had tremendous difficulty at his previous school because they refused to test him for an IEP. Sherman Elementary immediately ran the tests and got him into a special education class. He has been more successful in the past six months than he was his whole first year and a half of school. I give Sherman's principal and staff two thumbs up!
I am not a parent of any child at Sherman school but I am a student teacher, I have been welcomed very happly and I have to say that this is the best staff that I have ever worked with. The staff all work together and very hard to meet the needs of all the children in the school and to meet state standards.
A quality school with lots of great kids and teachers. The scores do say it all - they have improved the last 3 years and are still moving up. They have a computer lab, lots of technology in the classrooms, interesting special classes and support of all kinds for the kids. The teachers seems to really care.
This has to be the worst school in the mansfield city school district, too many children, few quality teachers, and the administration is a joke, just take a look at our test schools, like we said that says EVERYTHING!
our school is extremely over crowded!!! Teachers seem to only be there for the paychecks not for the quality of education they could provide if they cared enough. Our faculity seems to have problems with labeling children and not giving children a chance to prove themselves. The children in this school are overlooked, not listened to and getting a poor education. It would be educational to actually test the children to see what level of work they can do to they actual grade this school has passed them through to! I agree with the other parent, our test scores show EVERYTHING.
i think our pincipal and assistant principal have done a wonderful job at sherman this year. i would like to see more parent involvement.
