I dont like this school at all, I wish they would get some better office people, like principal, assistant principal and others.
My oldest son just graduated and my youngest son is a sphomore. Morgan High School has given them both unique opportunities to succeed and grow, both in the academic and sports environments. My oldest son received over $4,000 in scholarships to attend Ohio State and was able to test out of pre-calculus because of the dedication of one of the teachers to conduct an advanced placement calculus class before school. A good majority of the teachers are truly dedicated to their jobs and the guidance counselors are very good. Every student is given the opportunity to succeed, and it has been a positive experience for my children for the most part.
I don't think this school is for everyone. They have one set of standards for the kids of parents they know and another for all the others. My kids went to this school system for eight years, they were honor roll students as Morgan and when they left and went to a different school they were very behind in Math and Sciences and the Technologies. I don't think they have enough resources or equipment in the class rooms and the teachers aren't keeping their with the skills
I think the school itself is ran pretty good and smoothly. That is when you have good staff this year things have changed its stricter than any of the other years I have attended at Morgan High. They have great extracurricular activities like football,baseball...etc.They also have good academic programs. But they may need a few rule changes. All in all its a decent school to go to a good place to grow up.If only they had a different principal.
My child has a speech impairment. At an early age she was diagnosed as hearing impaired. Her hearing has improved; However, her speech not much. She attended a hearing impaired class in a nearby school ditrict. When my child reached high school age they insisted she return to Morgan. She has an interpreter now. She returned to inclusion. She had been mainstreamed. She returned to Morgan where they not only took her G.P.A from her, but then graded her with p. for Progress. M. for mastered. You understand my child was mainstreamed and was graded with A Grade point average of 3.2. Now receiving those grades, and inclusion was absurd.. I fought and had her mainstremed. And grades back. In her Education planning she was to attend the vocational school in Zanesville. now fighting for that. Morgan doesn't have training she can do. I don't recommend this school.
This school is a wonderful choice to send your students to. At Morgan High School you may find some of the most unique teaching methods you have ever witnessed. Being that the school is vocational school to some aspects, you will find the hands-on learning approach used to its fullest potential. This school is located in southeastern Ohio and the atmosphere speaks for itself. In Morgan County you will feel part of a tight knit community that lies in some of the least populated areas in Ohio. Your students will also become part of that community and gain the opportunity to make life long friends through organizations such as FFA. Sports are also something that the school takes great pride in. Your child will get a variety of opportunities to be active in their sport of choice.
I go to this school. It isn't the best school ever, but it's not the worst place to send your kids. For such a small community there are many different types of people in the school. At Morgan you can express yourself but the rules still keep everyone connected and safe. The academic programs are mediocre. There are many different choices of classes to take and it you apply yourself the classes are easy. students can choose from advanced placement and vocational classes too. the extracurricular activities are excellent. there is everything from drama and musicals to football and wrestling. the school offeres at least two sports for every season. take it from a very involved 4.0 student, Morgan High School is a good place to spend the best 4 years of your life.
This school should not be in bizzness because they don't know how to do anything. When the students have a problem with other students the school don't do anything about it. My daughter goes there and they won't stop the teasing or the bulling. And I think they need to do somthing about that school for the simple fact that they don't want to effect there reputashon. There gonna get a bad repatashon no matter what they do so it really don't matter. Thay don't realize what kind of damage that kind of stuff can do to a young boy or girl. I would not recamend anyone to this school.
I went to this school. It is a good school. The kids are nice. Some teachers like to give a lot of work. But for the most part they are usually easy to get along with. You respect them and they will respect you.
