All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness,
which includes important information like contact details and test scores.
It’s up to the school community to take the next steps.
As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families
by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers.
As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs,
and more with an Official school profile.
The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL
as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo,
and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
This school is a joke. I attended this school as a child and loved it. I looked forward to sending my children there but that was a mistake. My daughter has medical issues and is bullied by the other students. this has been going on for 2 years now. My child and I have told the teachers and there response to the bulling is "Tell the teachers outside and if they don't do anything then I am sorry about your luck, don't bring it back to the classroom". My daughter was jump today by 4 little girls on the play ground. My daughter told the teacher (whom was watching while it all happened and did nothing). Head lice is a MAJOR issue in this school. My daughter came home 4 times in 1 year with head lice. after telling the school where it was coming from I was told that they don't check every student, they don't have time. how ridiculous. They lost my daughter 3 times twice in Kindergarten and once in first grade. The principle told me that is was my child's fault because at age 6 she should know better (I remind you my daughter has severe ADHD among other issues).

Mayfield is horrible. They push for medication to deal with the kids rather than giving them the attention that they deserve. This is what we are paying for as tax payers. For whatever reason, we as parents of Mayfield students are required take off work early, every Wednesday so we can be home for the early release. I could understand an occasional early release, but come on, every week? Mrs Bailey must get her nails done that day every week. I also don't think that my children should be compared to hers. If we have a family emergency, or my child is ill, I will keep them home from school. If they go to school and get a head ache or stomach ache, I don't get notified unless they have a fever and are considered contagious. A principal should not be feared by her students, and should be looked at as an administrator and not a dictator. I think this new school deserves a new principal. A parent should be comfortable sending their child to school, and should not have to be criticized for contacting the school with concerns.

This school is ridiculous. The students are not aloud to talk during lunch if they do & barely get to a level they turn the lights out. I personally have witnessed this first hand while eating with my child. The principle has several control issues & is not open minded when new ideals are suggested (unless its her ideal). She compares her own children to the students. "My child has never missed one day of school other than being checked out early one day and she is now in high school". I'm sorry but last time I checked each child's health, family and personal issues are different. And just because your child has never missed one day does not make it the only right way. There are students who are on the Honor Roll who have missed one or two days due to a illness or emergency. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone! Believe me if I could change schools for my children I would & currently have my house up for sale for this very reason. Miss. Marsh was kid friendly & by far a better principal. The students fear Ms. Crook and I yet to hear one good thing about this school.

I love Mayfield! It is a wonderful school. They have a lot of extra activities that my daughter really enjoys! The academic program mixed with their attendance rates make Mayfield Elem. the number 1 school in the Middletown area! I am proud to send my daughter to Mayfield!
