My experience with Herbert Mills has been Wonderful. My son is in K this year and in the special education program. Mrs. Fryer has a really great special ed classroom with amazing teachers to help her as well. What is very obvious to me is how much they care about the students. I feel they are doing a FAB job! I have had a positive experience with everyone I have met, including Mrs. Bertke. I was very hesitant because of the reviews listed here, but I am so glad I found out for myself!
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! My son is in kindergarten this year- and I have yet to be please with this school and we are 3 months into the year. I am pleased with his teacher, she is wonderful! As for the principal- that is another story. This woman should NOT be in charge of running a school! Next year my son will NOT go to this HORRIBLY ran school, I will do open enrollment at another! I can't express enough how poorly this school is ran. Makes me sick!!! ITS DISGUSTING!
I have had two older children attend this school and have had no problems until this year. My third child is in first grade at this school and has ADHD as well as other learning disabilities. I brought in a letter from his doctor with a diagnosis and recommendations for how the school should help him with his education. I was then informeed they are not required to follow the doctor reccomendations and when I asked for him to be tested the school didn't feel it was necessary. I asked them if I had the testing done at Nationwide Children's Hospital would they follow the IEP the hospital set up and they said if they didn't feel the he needed it they were not required to follow the recommendations. My husband and I are now looking into sending our first gradeer to a private school where they will give my son the help he needs that myself, his father, the rest of our family, his multiple doctors, his physical therapist and his occupational therapist say he needs.
I am not happy with how the school is being run this year! I am thinking about taking my daughter out.
my grown children went to Herbert Mills years ago and now my grandson goes here. I feel that the school is still a great School and would reccomend it to anyone with children.
It's all about the kids. No kids left behind!
Herbert Mills has very loving and caring teachers, and a great PTO. My child is thriving there.
This was my daughters first year of school, I have to say I was not pleased with her experince at all. I have had 3 children go thru mills and have found that there are alot of Teacher I would not recommend. The problem with Mills is the leadership. I feel that the teachers do and say whatever they please because they know that they will not be challanged. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
We have had a very bad experience this year. I am sad that more wasn't done to turn around this year for my son. He now hates school and its sad because he was excited coming into this year.
A school is only as good as its teachers are. This is Herbert Mills strong point. The teachers are wonderful.Having a child with ADHD we have had some behavior problems but have always been treated with fairness and respect.I am so very pleased with the proformance of this school. My child is in Math and Reading enrichment for his advanced abilitys. He enjoys doing the work since it is a bit more challenging.Way to go Mills!!!!
