We moved to Cleveland, and decided to give it a try based on opinions of others. If you have a child that is above average, this is not the school for you. We found that their curriculum is/was about 2 years behind from where it should be, and the teachers will not work with you to give your child the appropriate level of work. Our kids were not at all challenged, and extremely bored. We also noticed that the teachers and principal treat the kids based on how much their parents donate. The surrounding public schools are much better...I wish we wouldn't have wasted our money trying this school.

Gesu is a good school that values memorization and skills building via worksheets. Your kid can get a very good and solid (but old fashioned, homework intensive) education from 1st through 4th grade. 5th grade at Gesu should be avoided at all costs. They position it as a "stretch year" but it is a negative experience for most kids. -Hasn't been a "blue ribbon" school for years -Not a Jesuit feel, just a Jesuit ribbon on top of old fashioned parochial catholic.

Gesu is an excellent school with supportive parents who team with teachers to educate each child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
