Our daughter entered Santa Fe this past year and has excelled. Having read through the prior reviews, I can't fathom some of the parents and students complaints. We've found the administrators to be most helpful when approached about any issue. Academic gains made by a student are dependent upon the student and the parents. Exceptional music, theater and sports programs are a big bonus. We made the right choice in moving from Oklahoma City to Edmond while ours was still in elementary school. A choice based on researching the schools in the greater OKC area.

I have been to Edmond Santa Fe High School for three years. I arrived there in my Sophomore year. The environment there is poorly thought out. Edmond Santa Fe High School sucks!!! The principal, Mr.Brown, is a total jerk. During Lunch in my Junior year, I was having an anxiety attack in the back halls, and nobody cared. So in order to get sanity alone, I needed to get to the restroom in Hall A. Unfortunately, Mr.Brown caught me in the hall, and told me to get back to the back hall. The other students are rude and disrespectful. They would put others down and make fun of other people. I remember on student came up to me and just rip paper out of my notebook without even consulting me. The teachers are pricks. Parents, don't send your children to Edmond Santa Fe. It's a horrible school. Once you're there, you'd want to kill yourself.

Santa Fe is an amazing school! I, as a student, absolutely love it there. It is very diverse so you get the best of both worlds. The school is like one big family! DWDW is the coolest week there. The students do a bunch of crazy dares and stuff to raise monney for charity. It is a very fun school, but also has a hard curriculum. School is very tough, but Santa Fe teachers will work side-by-side to help you understand. It is a school for kids that will work very very hard, but still can be a teenager.

As I life long Edmond resident, a graduate of Ed. Memorial, I can assure you that Santa Fe is a fine school. I currently have 2 children attending. Ratings to the contrary are by individiuals who focus on minutia rather than the big picture. Fact: ALL 3 of Edmond schools are ranked in the top 4% nationally. All 3 will prepare your child for success at any higher learning instition. Negativity regarding this school can largely be explained by class or racial differences. Yes, Santa Fe has a couple hundred more black students and the student population is more diverse regarding wealth. So what? Prepare your kid for the real world they live in or keep them in the great white world that's shrinking every day.

Being there i can honestly say that this school is a very fantastic school. everyone has a place at santa fe. there are a ton of clubs && many different groups of people come together. DWDW[double wolf dare week] is probablly the highlight of the year. all different kinds of students come together to raise money for a variety of charitys. our sports cant be beat, && the food isnt that bad. the teachers go out of their way to makesure we understand whats happening && for the most part the kids arent that bad either. Edmond santa fe is where its at, && i happen to adore it.

It's safe, and the sporting events and facilities are very nice. While there are a handful of qualified, motivated, and exceptional teachers, this is not the norm. If your student plans to attend an average state school, Santa Fe High School is acceptable. If, however, your child likes to be challenged beyond the norm, score exceptionally well on standardized tests, and be encouraged to attend the best universities in the United States or abroad, consider other alternatives than Santa Fe. Santa Fe encourages students to attend state schools and community colleges within Oklahoma. This is fine for students who pursue it, but it is unfortunate that students are not encouraged to apply to Oxford, Stanford, and other top ranked institutions. At Santa Fe, students are encouraged to seek mediocrity instead of superiority in their curriculums, college goals, and career pursuits.

Yes, there are a few flaws but every school has them. We now have a principal that comes out of their office. He is talking with the students. Most of the teachers give you visuals of what they are teaching. They don't just go by the book. If there is something outside of school you need help with, the teachers with help you with your problems. I love going to Edmond Santa Fe and would not choose the other two schools in Edmond.
