I feel having two special needs children in 3rd and 4th grade that Winding Creek has great potential but has not reached it yet for the Special Needs kids and good relationships with their parents including parent involvement and good communication. I hope they will continue to improve but I feel they have a long ways to go to earn a 5 star rating from me. I do agree that there are many great seasoned teachers at Winding Creek. I feel it is a luck of the draw what you get just like any other public school.
Excellent leadership and great special education staff. The PTA and teachers are very involved and community involvement is extraordinary. It makes a daily drive from Moore worth it knowing my child is attending this school.
My daughter went to school her whole life in a very small school in southern Oklahoma, so I was very worried about how she would adapt to a larger school in a much larger city. I have to say that she has really gotten a lot out of school, already. The teachers seem to be very interested in their students, they have lots of extracurricular activities available, and high academic goals are very apparant. I believe my daughter will benefit from the move to Winding Creek Elementary.
My children have gone to WC since 1st and 3rd grade and the love it! I would recommend this school to any parent! All my friends are pleased with Winding Creek as well. The principal is wonderful and very patient with the children and the teachers have been there so long unlike my childrens past school were the teachers would stay a few months.
we moved to the WC area during spring break of our sons Kindergarten year. He did not enjoy attending his previous school but once he started at WC he was thrilled to go to school and has remained interested in school ever since. He will be a third grader in the fall. I credit the teachers and staff for his interest in school. They have made it a fun yet effective learning environment. Great emphisis is placed upon reading as well as all the other subjects. The classrooms are nice and the student teacher ratios are decent. Most importantly, the entire staff wants to see our children succeed and won't stop until they do. I highly recommend Winding Creek for a top notch education.
