Putnam City West is a fantastic neighborhood school. The climate there is one where students feel cared about and safe. both of my children recently graduated from the school and I would not have sent them anywhere else. the faculty really cares and the music department is second to none!

I taught at West for a few years. The experience you walk away with depends on the classes you taught. The school does a lot with what it's been given...however, as a parent I wouldn't send my kid to that school. I'd have huge safety concerns and it's easy for kids to slip right through the cracks due to it's population and the nature and magnitute of behavior issues they have.

I have had two kids graduate from PC West and a senior this year. The faculty are professional and go beyond just teaching. The students are caring and generous individuals. The PTA works hard to help where needed.

I graduated from putnam city west and I really enjoyed my time there. It was a great school then and I think it has returned to that same status now. I have had 1 child graduate from West and i have 1 who will be a senior next year and 1 that will be a freshman, I have watched this school go from ok to really good in the last few years. I have tried to be as involved as I possibly can and I have encouraged my children to be as involved as they possibly can especially when it comes to school spirit. I have seen a big change in that department. Kids are really showing that they care. The leadership of the principals and the teachers is a tremendous asset to this school they are all doing a very good job. I would recomend this school highly.

When I was in school in 81 no one offered College to me. There was no , one on one with the teachers no tutors. So my grades failed in some classes. It is not a wonder they do not get a very good ratiing.

If there's an area where PC West doesn't excel, we're working on it. In sports, the arts, academics and every other aspect of school, West is improving. Our test scores meet and sometimes exceed district averages thanks to teachers who work in teams to improve performance. Our musicals are second to none and our sports are creating quality human beings while kicking off a winning tradition. Watch out for West, we're only getting started.

West is a great school. There is no perfect school anywhere and you always have to take into account socioeconomics and student population when looking at test scores. West teachers give their heart and soul to their kids. We show up for them. The admin is so positive and encouraging. It's a great place to be.

I attended PCW for my freshman and half of my sophomore year. It's an amazing school. The teachers are wonderful & really helpful. The drama, music, and sports departments are also great, especially the drama. The academic aspects are improving and so are the students. The school I am attending now (Owasso Mid-High School) really pales in comparison.

We have been a part of PCW for 6 years and have one child who has graduated and 2 still enrolled. Over the last two years we have seen a dramatic improvement in the school's leadership and direction. The faculty overall is excellent and the administration is tough and consistent yet caring. The new coaching staff is focused on preparing young men and women of character as much as they are great athletes. This year the school is home of the Assistant Principal of the year for the state of Oklahoma, the Teacher of the Year for the PC district and Milkin award winner, a strong and growing PTSA, a nationally recognized drama department and much more. PCW is a school with lots of diversity and that is one of it's greatest strengths. This is a wonderful school with lots to offer and it is only going to get better.

As a faculty member and parent of this school, I have seen PCW improve tremendously over the past few years. We have increased security measures and our new principal has enforced the previous dress code 100%. We are not finished by far and I am looking forward to the positive changes ahead...we have awesome parent involvement especially during school hour activities, which helps tremendously. Our sports program is moving in the right direction with the new coaching staff and we are looking forward to a great football season.

West, like many schools, has gone through some growing pains over the last few years but appear to be on the right track with new adminstrators. It's my opinion that West is a great school and the teacher's do their best with they have to work with: disrespectful students and lacking parental support. During open house usually only a few parents take the time to show up and see all the good things happening at West. All student's, from the academically challenged to the gifted and talented, receive a quality education. West realizes that not all student's are college bound and addresses these student's with their Career Tech program. I was particularly impressed with West's Technology Education program where student's are introduced to a variety of careers ranging from construction to engineering! In my opinion, West is one of the best schools in the state.

I've had a child recently graduate from PCW. After such a terrible experience year in and year out, I moved to Edmond to get my other child in a decent school and the difference is amazing. The administration at PCW is lacking. There is no security whatsoever. The entire PC school district used to be good but has gone downhill quickly. I would avoid this school and district at all costs.

I graduated from PCW in 2003 and hated all four years of it. I would not recommend this school to anyone who wants to get or their child to get a good education.

As a former student of PCW, I have been very dissapointed in the lack of student leadership and the serious lack of school pride that has been shown over the last few years. My daughter is currently a junior and my oldest son will be a freshman next semester and I will have two more boys following him, so I am anxious to see what the new principal will bring. More importantly I am trying to teach my kids that the pride they take in their own school really matters, stop wearing green class shirts and going to football games just to show off your new clothes and talk on your phone. I was very pleased to see the old colors back on the field. The students need to wake up.

sadly this school is pathetic. the administrators focus on trivial things and mostly try to come up with ways to make the most money. i graduated from PCW in 2003 and was active in school programs like athletics and stuco. being in that position, i was able to see the 'behind the scenes' of the school. and quite honestly it is not as it seems. with the less than friendly counseling staff, it is hard for a parent to contact the school and know anything about their childs progress. overall this school is not a promising institution

I am a student that attends PC West High School. The school is too focused on bringing up the scores of the lowest achievers, and neglects the high standing students , providing very little support or activites, let alone recognition for the upper echelon of students attending the school. This school has become misguided and need to be refocused.

In 1985 I went to PCW and graduated from there and now I have a daughter that attends PCW and she comes home almost everyday and tells me something new that she has learned that day. I think that PCW is a great school when I attended it. I also think it is great that a student learns new things everyday.

I feel that it is a great school. I have 3 kids that have attended or they are attending now. I love it. But I also feel that students get out of it what the put in it. And the same for parents. There's a saying that goes like this, ' Stop expecting perfection, you are not & Child to as they see not as they are told most of the time.' So for them to follow be a great shepard.
