If you have a self starter, great school. But if your child has any special needs, this is not the place for you. No communication just not welcome back. After they preach how important communication is. I emailed a staff member and no call back just a short email. But I think if you take out your checkbook, they will bend over backwards for you. Just glad I didn't give the substantial donation I was going to give. A horrible failure for my extra special child.

I strongly disagree with the parent who wrote that they do not help children with ADHD. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and is not on medication. Her teachers are aware of this and have assisted us with many behavioral interventions and have sought to help develop talents that give her confidence to work through challenges. We communicate through email almost weekly and they have assisted us with study skills. My daughter is still easily distracted but reads at a 12th grade level and is making A's and B's. Communication is key; if you work with your teaching team they will help you. If you feel this is not the case, I know Mrs. Waldo or Mrs. Regens are there to help. Best of luck to you. We adore Westminster School!

They really should reconsider their rules limiting kindergarten child's birthdays. Seem very fond of stifling rules there!

School doesn't offer anything for kids with ADHD or needs an iep. The will fail and teachers don't care.

My son looks forward to school every day, tells anyone who asks that he loves it! He is learning things I don't even know, and hes only 6! His teacher gave me her personal cell before the school year started and has never ignored my calls :) She talks as long as I need to and always tells me how wonderful and amazing my son is. What mom doesn't love to hear that? Plus, I know he feels exactly the same way about her. Love love love this school

This is our first year at Westminster and we LOVE it! The team of teachers is especially welcoming to new students. Our child continually mentions how much easier it is to focus in the classroom setting at Westminster. My husband and I contribute this the wonderful educators and also class size! Perhaps there aren't many studies that say teacher/student ratio is not that important.... Well, I say the positive results we are seeing are proof enough! Westminster is a wonderful environment for optimal learning!

This is my third year at Westminster and I believe that it is one of the most challenging schools in the state. The teachers here expect no more than the best from each and every student. Westminster also takes health very seriously, which is why there is physical education. All of the teachers come highly qualified and have a positive attitude. I very much recommend sending your child here.

I went to Westminster for 8 years. I'm currently a Sophmore in Highschool and I still think about thsi school all the time. I loved the people and I loved the teachers. I learned sooo much at this school and I highly recommend this school to ANYONE. Everyone is so friendly too. If I still live in Oklahoma City when I'm older, I will be sending my children there. AH its just such an awesome school!

I love westminster. The teachers are all so great. It is such a good school because the teachers have so much one on one time with us. There is only about 18 or less kids to a class. The activities we do are really great and different. We go on great fieldtrips and learn a lot. Westminster is a great school.

I attended Westminster and still know lots of people who send their kids there. It is all about cooperative learning, and does a great job at teaching children about the importance of proper social interaction.

Words cannot even describe the experience I had a Westminster. I went there from K-8...a long time ago (1996). The administration has not changed much since I left, which is GREAT! I still go back just to visit. I attribute my passion for learning, up through today, to my experience at Westminster. Westminster was an incredible learning environment for the fact that it wasn't solely driven my standardized testing. Westminster taught creative learning and thinking. Westminster builds a foundation for be an analytical thinker and using deductive reasoning, rather than seeing things black and white. I wish I still lived in Oklahoma City so that my children would be able to have the same amazing experience I had.

Westminster goes to grade 8. There is a program for young children starting at age 3 1/2 which focuses on art, pre reading, writing, math and language. The pre-school teachers are excellent, and are child development specialists. The learning centers are color coded and correspond to math, science, reading, geography in Kindergarten. There is a fullday pre K which can lead to Kindergarten or a 2nd year of transitional K if the child needs that. The after school program is wonderful. These children are well challenged, but in a very nurturing environment. Parents and grandparents are strongly encouraged to be involved. There is a gym and new outdoor play area. The middle school is only a year old and is a fastastic facility. They have scholarships available.

I couldn't imagine a better place for my children to receive their education. The teachers and administrators are top notch, and parent involvement is astounding. Joining Westminster is more like joining a supportive family than a school. My daughter can't wait to go to school every morning and is already learning to read after just one semester there. Graduates of Westminster go on to high school and are consistently at the top of their class. Bob Vernon, the headmaster, is absolutely amazing. Children spend so much time in school-I am so thankful they can spend it at Westminster.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
