I'm a Senior at Sallisaw High School.... Yes at times this school isn't much fun, but most school are not, but if a student just focused on their school work and not the stupid little things like; I hate these people, why do I have to be here, and so on and so forth. Anyways all I am saying is slackers won't pass at this school, and people that complain when it gets 'too tough' are slackers....

Recently we relocated to Sallisaw and our freshmen son attends SHS. He's maintained a 3.8 GPA and an active schedule in 3 demanding sports. I'm impressed by the faculty and coaching staff of the commitment which they display with respect to the students. They have bent over backwards to make our son comfortable and saw to his every need which included buying new equipment for his track & field event; pole vault. SHS did not field a PV team thus did not have the equipment or facility for training so they made alternate arrangements where our son could maintain a training schedule at another campus and purchased everything that he needed including poles etc..And, the senior students have been very nurturing and made the transition effortless. Small town with progressive minds. We love it.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction (OCCT EOI) exams to test students in high school in several subjects. The OCCT EOI is a high school graduation requirement. The OCCT EOI exams are standards-based tests, which means they measure specific skills defined for each subject by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
