If you are not in the proper clique at Metro, watch out. Middle school is out of control. We took our son out of Metro in 7th grade due to TREMENDOUS BULLYING, that is right, TREMENDOUS BULLYING. The administration says they will look into the problem but they do nothing. I feel that being hit, tripped, came home with bruises is definitely bullying. The things the popular kids did to my son and the constant name calling was out of hand. I am proud for the parents who are telling the truth about the school. It's kinda funny how the follow up is on this after someone reports a problem. Well if you haven't figured it out, it is the administration writing all of these great comments. The school needs to get a grip on the real problem.
Continued from below: I am sure that all decisions that are made may not always be the most pleasing to all, but trust GOD will open our eyes and ears for HIS WILL to be done. Many pray for our leaders and school body daily, and know the power of prayer is strong. Metro is entering into a new season with a new Headmaster and a new form of Policy Governance. I am excited for our future and truly believe it is expecting the pursuit of excellence in all things through Christ. I would recommend MCA without any hesitation.
This was our first and only year at Metro. My child transferred from public school, where she learned some bad habits. We were kept completely in the dark about how bad some of these habits were until it was a major issue. The school has failed to meet its claims of being close knit and encouraging. I had to begin checking in with the teacher weekly to ensure that things had gotten better. There is a lack of professionalism in communicating with parents. I have been lied to more than once, and I quit reading emails due to being asked for money. The curriculum is fantastic, and its a great school if you are not an involved parent. The faculty and parents can be cliquish, but I have not seen any bullying or cliques in the elementary school. We will not be back next year, though. This was not the Christian atmosphere I hoped for.
We have had two children graduate from Metro and now have two grandchildren who attend. I am so grateful that Tulsa has a private christian school that offers so much. The teachers, staff and administration are very caring. They care about each and every student in all grade levels. We would highly recommend Metro.
Both of my children attend Metro Christian Academy. Metro Christian provides a warm, welcoming, and Christian learning environment encouraging scholastic, spiritual, and athletic growth in each and every child. Every teacher and administrator has each child s very best interest at heart. We have been very blessed with the opportunity to attend Metro Christian Academy and would with confidence recommend Metro Christian as an exemplary private school.
Metro has been a blessing in the educational and spiritual development of our sons. Both have graduated from Metro and were truly prepared for college. We loved the family atmosphere and involvement of parents in the school. The teachers and administration truly care about the student body's overall well-being and are excellent educators. We do not regret our decision to be a part of the Metro community! A+
Metro is a wonderful school that truly cares about children. I'm amazed at the level of professionalism and partnership demonstrated by the administration and teachers. Our experiences have been truly amazing. Metro offers a college-prep curriculum within a Christian environment.
I have two children who attend Metro and we have had a WONDERFUL experience. Some parents are reviewing that there are bullying problems. We have been to both public school and now private school. There really are NO BULLYING problems compared to public school, and even compared to other private schools. Every school has children that are unkind occasionally or make poor decisions and Metro is no exception. Kids are kids no matter where you go. However, the elementary at Metro has done an amazing job of teaching students to treat others with kindness and compassion. They have added a program called Rachel's Challenge that promotes kindness and caring and the school has done a wonderful job addressing any issues that arise. The MS and HS will be adding the Rachel's Challenge program next year and I believe it will make a positive impact on those schools as well. The administrators at all levels have a heart for Christ and for kids. They do an amazing job of educating our kids and keeping them safe.
Metro Christian Academy continues to excel in accomplishing its mission of delivering college prepratory education in a non-demoninational, Christian environment. The recent announcment of a new headmaster, as well as the campus improvements from the recent capital campaign, make it an exciting time to be at Metro.
I have two children at Metro and they have had an incredible experience. They have wonderful friends. The students at Metro are well behaved, mannerly, respectful and come from families who are actively involved in their lives. I was recently on a field trip with a group and when we returned there were emails from a person who had been part of the touring company praising our young people's behavior. Metro is a great school with great academics, caring faculty and administrators, and good kids. You should check it out!
