I love Amity Creek because they look at each child as an individual. So the teachers understand each child progresses at different rates and they honor that and provide the appropriate support. I also like how they get creative about learning. The teachers will adopt exciting projects and incorporate several subject matters into their learning of that project. The kids have so much fun they don't even realize they are learning! I also really love Amity Creek's ability to build and preserve a great sense of community within the school. The principle and all teachers take great pride in promoting a strong 'sense of community' within the school. This sense of community feels like family to the children. The kids feel a sense of belonging and acceptance within the school. This aspect of community extends beyond sheer 'academic' work. That is why I think Amity Creek is an exceptional school because each and every day they take on the whole child and what that means to be in community with others. This is no easy task. But somehow the staff at Amity Creek pulls it off effortlessly. I have been walking the hallways at Amity for four year and have never witnessed unkindly behavior.
