Not a very welcoming school for parents and doesn't seem to want any parent involvement. Open House was also unwelcoming. Parents go into the cafeteria with teachers set up on the periphery and parents mingle in the center, and wait in line to speak to each teacher individually, basically parents seem to be set up to look like "fools", no meeting in auditorium to introduce new programs, teachers, services, etc., no walking around viewing the classrooms your child will be in that school year, in fact, every part of the school was locked off except the cafeteria.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
