Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Most of the teachers are great in spite of the teacher to child ratio which is more like 30+ (except kindergarten) kids to teacher. Parents in this school have figured out that they need to participate to compensate for the ratio which keeps kids from falling in the cracks as much. That said, I am sure that these teachers are going to get burned out if the class size problem is not addressed by the district. Too bad they closed Gales Creek elementary - it overloaded the other schools.

My grandson is a 3rd grade student of Miss Linsey. This is a great school as he seems to be to enjoy it more this year.

I had three children attend the school. Every teacher grades K-3 are fantastic. The quality of 4th and 5th grade teachers were hit and miss. Some where not a good fit for the position and some where overwhelmed. Overall it was a good experience for the children.

Homework for kindergartners was surprising, but at least it was only 1 assignment due per week. Friendly Admin staff, perhaps compensating for my child s surly 'ready-for-retirement' teacher, whom was on several occasions overtly rude and judgmental [of us] when our child missed school [due to family issues/sickness]. On another occasion, my child was scratched/bruised in the face on the playground, and he did report it to a teacher, but I never received any phone call before I saw my child at the end of the day. They seem pretty relaxed on bullying issues, which crosses over to the bus rides as well. Multiple parents claim their child abused, and/or they had to remove their child from the buses due to this un-controlled issue. Overall, the class work & assignments seemed innovative and fun, and they at least had a couple good field trips. They did send notices for parent involvement, along with a ton of money soliciting programs/fundraisers... The graduation ceremony [for K] was a fun ending to his first year in school. Hope this state figures out a budget for these schools soon!

Seems to be over crowed and understaffed. Teachers and administrators are inconstant in rule setting and common sense is not always used in dealing with issues. Not highly recommended.
