This school is a treasure. The staff are deeply dedicated to the quality of the children's experience here. Many parents are involved in contributing to class enrichment. All children are held accountable, so behavioral issues here are very minor. This is such a pleasant place to visit because everyone is happy learning! The school is small enough so everyone gets the attention they need. Student teachers from WOU are absolutely outstanding. I can't say enough good things about my children's education here - they love going to school, they come home inspired as well as tired, and real relationships exist here between kids, educators, and the community.

IES offers a family oriented community approach. Every morning parents, staff, and students get together for 'Team Time'. We dance and sing to the macarena, the chicken dance, YMCA, and other fun songs. All staff discipline students in the same manner. If you yelled 'Five!', students would yell 'Four, three, two, one.' and then dead silence. Teachers greet/say goodbye to each student individually with a hug or a hand shake; and teachers actually like kids! and other staff as well. I have been a parent at IES for three years and am currently completing my practicum there for my Masters. This little brick school house is ideal for close knit families and a great treasure!

I have two children enrolled in IES. The teachers my children have had are wonderful! After school they have a program that helps them with their homework and projects. My children feel so comfortable & have learned so much. They love to go to school. I would highly recommend this school!
