i love talmadge. i am a 6th grader and this my first year at the school. the new 6thgrade edition is fantastic and there is plenty of sport opportunitys. we get awarded for our great work and disciplined if we break the rules, just like we should be taught. my mom is a teacher there and she also loves this school. they welcome new students with respect and it is just a great school.

Being new to the area this school year, I was concerned about the quality of the schools in the area. My worries were quickly put to rest. The administration, teachers and students are great. I can email all of my child's teachers and know that I will have a response before the end of the day, and not be made to feel like I am bothering them. Mr. LaBounty, the principal, has been helpful, understanding, and is generally always available to listen to a concern and address it in a timely and efficient manner. Thank you Talmadge for making us feel welcome!

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
