The teachers do a great job at El Puente. I speak only a little Spanish and I am able to understand what they are trying to convey. My daughter is loving school there and picking up Spanish so quickly.

If you looking for a close knit group of dedicated parents and and staff El Puente would be top on your list. We all love and care about our children and we are also fresh to the sceene so were striving to improve every day. Teachers are put to the test when it comes to the English speaking children and they can only use Spanish but the handle it beautifly with thier use of body and sign language. Your childs brain will be challanged, they will love learning, they will have to really try and that only expands the mind more and more. Please consider becomming part of our famlia, Mi Casa es Su Casa.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
