North Powder Charter is a wonderful school. I removed both of my children from Baker City 5J due to both bullying and the teachers telling me that neither of my children (grades 1 and 2 at the time) will get to grade level in any subject. They kept telling me that my daughter was 'lazy' and my son was a 'distraction'. Within the first month of moving to North Powder, both of my children's teachers agreed to do Conner's tests and a few others. My daughter is now in 6th grade. She is doing 9th grade science and math and is grade level with her reading. She's been diagnosed A.D.\H.D. and dyslexic. My son is in 5th grade. He is doing 7th to 8th grade in every subject. He's been diagnosed A.D.D. and Autistic. Their teachers have worked with me and for my kids to help them in every subject. They are amazing.

I am a parent of a student at Powder Valley and I have been very impressed with the overall quality of education that my child has received. I really appreciate the small community feel of the school and the fact that it is K-12. Many of the teachers know the kids from Kindergarten through to the time they graduate, and it's great that the Seniors know and acknowledge kids as little as kindergarten which they wouldn't do in a split school system. The teachers are top notch and great at communicating to the parents about issues that come up.

I myself went to this school for 2 years and I loved it, the teachers are wonderful and I learned more there than any other schools I'v been too. The sportsmanship is wonderful too! I wish I could have finished school there. It was a great experience and the community was so involved I miss it very much.
