Like all schools, CCMS is a mixed bag. The vast majority of the teachers are wonderful dedicated professional educators who go way above and beyond what is called of them. In spite of the community's economic hardship, the teachers do everything they can to overcome the ridiculous obstacles placed in their way (CCMS is short 3 teachers for the number of students in the school because the district was more concerned with building a beautiful new home for the district office than hiring the amount of teachers needed per student. Unfortunately, it's a very small and backwards thinking town and while the teachers and most school officials are well educated forward-thinking progressive individuals, the members of the school board are all 'good ole' boys' (and girls) and make it terribly difficult to make any real progress. The school board has more power here than in most communities for some reason.
