My daughter is in fourth grade and is verbally bullied by one boy who also goes to her after school program. We talked with the after school teachers and it has seemed to stop.

My daughter is in 1st grade & it's mainly the boys who pick on her. It's heartbreaking and seems the teachers do nothing about it!

I might also add, that every previous suggestion worked - BUT the most effective strategy is to stand up for self with both strength and compassion - and flatter. The bully became my child's advocate and then no one screwed with him again.

YES! I've bullied the other parent. I've discipline other people's children. We switched schools. I taught him how to fight AND I've taught him how to "flatter", stand up for himself and then leave. Four years later - problem solved. Whew!

My son is in 1st grade and I believe the bully in his class. I feel terrible from his behavior. I don't believe it's anything we created by our family/home. He's the youngest of our family, neighborhood kids, and cousins. Help!

most bullies are created by their families. I have told my child said no and stand up for himself. However, the other parent became nasty. I will call the cops next time.

Yes, in 1st grade. The teachers tried to help but nothing worked until an older girl in my son's Taekwondo class talked to the boy, making it clear he couldn't do it anymore. That put a stop to the bullying.

My 3 year old was just recently attacked by a bully at the park. A girl who was at least 7 or 8 followed my daughter around throwing sand on her. She then turned to me and threw sand at me. Boy did I give her an earful!
