I am very happy with East Fallowfield. The teachers are very good and care about their students very much. The entire staff have made things very easy for me with this being my first school. I am excited for my second child to be starting E.F. this year. I was not completely satisfied with Dr Stanko. The PTA is great.
I moved to the East Fallowfield Area around 6 years. Both my children went to East Fallowfield Elem School. Ms Moore was in the office then, And to be honest I did not like dealing with her at all, she defintely ran the school, and seem to make the newcomers like my self feel less than welcome. I was not impressed with Dr. Stanko when she was at South Brandywine..... Other than that the teachers are all Gems....the PTA were wonderful and committed..... It is a great little school...
My first son started at this school 2 years ago in kindergarten when Dawn Lawless was the principal- had she not left, we would have. Dr. Stanko has been the principal since 8/06 and we are very pleased with her- though my dealings with her have always been pleasant, as our children tend to stay out of trouble. (We now have two boys at the school.) I feel so lucky to have my children in such a wonderful school. There really is something special about it.
I pulled my children from this school for this school year after quite a few disappointments last year with the new principal. We had been happy with the school before this. One of my children having gotten into trouble and we as parents not finding out for 10 days and then only through the mail was upsetting. We had been very happy with most of the teachers while we were there. Since the arrival of Dr. Stanko the school has lost its family feel. I would consider sending my children back if a new principal was put in place.
Overall the teachers are excellent. Some have been there for up to 18 years. I do agree with the much needed renovations. A gym would be ideal and a great asset. Small schools are hard to come by and this one is good. The office staff? Yes they can be a challenge at times but for the most part are ok to work with. I do like the security they have at the front door and I feel as though safety is a priority. They are starting a before and after school program this year which is a great improvment. Overall I am happy to have children in this school.
We have been so pleased with East Fallowfield. I am hoping that some needed renovations will be done to the school in the near future, both interior and exterior. Continue to hire excellent educators. Remember you get what you put into your education.
This school has no before/after school care, nor do any facilities pick up children for this. This is a huge obstacle for working parents. The office staff is rude and less than helpful, to the point of being a stumbling block to getting things done. I emailed the principal and never got a response back. I asked for the number of the PTA president to inquire about after school care and the office staff said, 'She'll tell you the same thing we did, there isn't any!' They refused to give me her number and said they would have her call me. No call was received. When leaving blank my husbands job on their forms (we were in process of moving from TX) the office woman said, 'You mean he's not going to work?' I could list a dozen other issues. I am very disappointed in this school!
EFES is a wonderful place to be a kid. We have wonderful teachers, very active parents and very well behaved kids. There are few discipline problems at this school. Our kids are receiving a quality education in a small country setting. Downfalls at this school-although there are some I think the school could use more extra curricular activities. Also the building is very dated and in need of renovations.
It is excellent, or above excellent. The teachers and parents blend together to help all our children excel. The majority of the teachers don't just stop in the classroom but procede to work with the children on extra projects that go way above and beyond.
