South is a great school with great teachers...some teachers are young who connect with our me and my friends. I have been on the honor roll since 6th grade. I am now in 8th. South has a lot of sports just brought back. They also have a lot of clubs. Keep up the good work South Brandywine!!!

I feel South Brandywine Middle School was a great learning experience. While my two oldest sons went to North Brandywine, my two younger children went to South. South has more discipline and is steering the kids in the right direction. Keep it up South.

I think South Brandywine gets a bad name.... My daughter is a 7th grader there... She's had no problems. She is on honor roll and I do have to speak to her teachers about boosting her to the next level... but they have always been very supportive. The teachers I have dealt with have been very nice, and seem committed to the kids. Mr. Harre, Mr. Pearson, Ms. Smith. +++ I think they do need more extracurricular activities, More computer oriented studies, more parent participation... A new school building would be wonderful... and is really needed.

I have 2 children in SBMS and find it disorganized and that the teacher's are not very attentive to the children's needs. The school definitely needs a makeover as well.

South Brandywine provides a solid educational foundation for high school. The teachers are dedicated and accessible, and the school promotes good learning habits. The music and sports programs are good and well attended. Outside of music and sports, there weren't a lot of extracurricular activities available. Also, there is no second language learning in middle school.

My daughter is a seventh grader at SBMS. She was taught things in her science class that I was taught as an undergraduate. I think the teaching staff is excellent. She has already grasped a lot of geometry fundamentals and will begin algebra in 8th grade next year as her full math curriculum. I truly can't say enough about the dedication of the teachers. Anyone who is not doing well is simply not taking advantage of all there is to offer. She easily scored a 92 in her state-mandated language skills part of the exam. The amount of extra-curricular activities is broad-based. I would also like to add that she has been tested twice and is not a gifted student, just a hard worker with parents who take an active part in steering her in the right direction.

The only thing I can say about this school is this: I have one daughter in 6th grade at South Brandywine, and another daughter in 5th grade at a charter school. My 5th grader is being taught things that my 6th grader has NOT been taught yet.
