Miquon is the best gift that I have ever given to my child. It is progressive, warm, diverse, and challenging. My children LOVE school and are learning so much. They feel simultaneously supported and self-reliant. Because of Miquon, they are on the road to becoming intellectually curious, self-sufficient, life-long learners.

Miquon provides the best environment for elementary education possible. They really do know each child as an individual, what they are about and how they learn. While leaving nothing behind in academics, they let kids enjoy the experience of being who they are as children in a nurturing atmosphere. This is truly a great learning institution.

'Mom, when I was asked what is my favorite place, I said 'school.' I have fun at school. I have fun in class. I have fun at 'choice', I have fun with everything I do. I didn't realize until I visited other schools how special Miquon really is.' This is my son speaking who was just interviewing for 7th grade (Miquon ends with 6th grade). Indeed, it is a special place. Whenever I call about anything, whoever answers the office phone has just seen my child and knows what is happening with him/her or their class and reliably takes care of my request. Amazing personalized attention. Best though for kids without major learning issues. Learning differences is not its strength, although Miquon is very respectful of differences. Be prepared, kids play in the creek all seasons and go outside from building to building between classes, so pack extra clothes!

We love Miquon. The school is the best kept secret in Philadelphia! Our children are constantly challenged, but its all done in a manner that keeps them interested, fully engaged and wanting to learn more. I am so glad we found this school.

Miquon is an independent school in the progressive tradition. It belives in nurturing each child's individual potential. It is a wonderful match for creative students who like the out of doors. It wouldn't be a perfect place for a student who needed a high degree of structure and constant supervision.
