Great school for those interested in the college prep track. Very strong academic programs but lacking a little in music and the fine arts. All in all, they are building a new school with some great new programs and an outstanding principal!

The academic program has gone the way of high-stakes testing. Teachers who once provided a full curriculum are now forced to 'teach to the test.' Federal funding and accreditation are more important than developing the whole student. Music programs have been stifled since the enactment of NCLB. The music instructional staff has had to endure tremendous adversity with scheduling restrictions and a near 'prep-school' approach to student experience. Sports programs have always been the focus of extra-curricular activities and community interest. The h.s. building facilities are a disgrace to the community. Thankfully, a new building project should rectify this problem. Former parent

The High school is out of date, but it offers a good education. Who cares if the band is underfunded, very few students use it and our sports teams deserve more of the money anyway. Also our sports teams are better than our band and we have numerous district and state championships so obviously our sports education is fine...

The academic program is solid and prepares the average student for college. The music program is not supported well. Additionally, the instructors in the music department, on average, do not inspire or encourage the students to fully harness their potential. The AP classes are generally well-taught, and particularly the math AP class. The physics classes should be more structured, should cover more material, and should be introduced intuitively. Ideally, the class should match, on a basic level, the material taught in an average college physics101/102 class. Teacher to student favoritism needs to be reduced. As all high school students are impressionable, their strengths need to be reinforced.

This school is extremely rewarding and always delivers excellent results. This reflects upon the amazing PSSA and SAT scores. I highly recommend this high school!
