If greatschools.org only rates this school a 9, I can't imagine how perfect you have to be to score a 10. The principal knows every child's name and greets them at the pick-up/drop-off daily. The teachers are engaged and caring and do an excellent job of giving each child the type of attention they need. For some that means advanced programs, and others more one-on-one time. My kids love it there and loved having mom & dad join them for lunch at the kindergarten table.

Devon Elementary is great school, the principal and teachers are exceptionally good. There is strong emphasis on academic excellence. The PTO is 1st rate

I have had several children go through Devon and overall it is a very nice school. The atmosphere has changed a bit in recent years however with NCLB and heavy emphasis on ever-increasing rounds of standardized testing. It is not as creative a place for the kids as it used to be, but that is probably due to the School District and state mandates. Overall this is a pleasant school with good teachers. It is going through a growth spurt right now, so it does not feel as much like a private school as it did in the past.

We have had a mixed experience with Devon. Perhaps because of the fantastic principal (Mrs. Tiede) leaving or a lack of focus on the 'no bullying' policies or perhaps because of teachers who don't seem to know my children very well anymore. Great community, the parents are wonderfully involved, but the school doesn't seem to help when your child is outside of the middle of the pack, academically or socially. Really poor experiences with the guidance system on all fronts, from testing to counselling programs in the classroom. But academically, the school is first rate, and the teachers really care.

Devon Elementary is the equivalent to a private school. It is the top public elementary school in T/E Township and one of the top in the state of Pennsylvania.
