I am the parent of a third grader at Weigelstown. I think the staff is courteous and care about the kids. However, I share the same sentiments about the new principal as the other parental reviews. I think she too can benifit from classes on 'how to communicate with parents.' I also don't care too much for the curriculum. It could be a lot more challenging. I've had enough of seeing second grade vocabulary words for my third grader.

Up until last year I was thrilled with Weigelstown. Most of teachers we have dealt with are wonderful! They truly care about the children and it is obvious. The area where the school is lacking is staff support and interest in community building events. It is rare to find more than one or two staff members at any event and since getting a new principal last year that has become even more of a problem. The new principal has washed her hands of the PTO and does not regularly attend or seem interested in attending school-sponsored events. It is unfortunate as the previous principal was key in the planning and success of fun community/family events. The new principal also lacks the social skills and care for her school community that Dr. K exhibited daily. She is all business and does not return calls or address concerns in a timely manner.

# Reviewed by a Parent/Guardian on March 16, 2009 (Rating: 1 / 5) Report As Inapropriate # My children starting attending this school 3 years ago, after attending Leib elementary. From the time I walked in this school, I got a bad feeling. Everyone seemed rude and unhappy. Well here we are 3 years later and I must say the first impressions I got this time were right-on. Everyone is rude. The teachers, the cafeteria workers, the aides...everyone. The school is so disorganized and unprofessional I feel bad sending my kids there everyday. I've personally talked to the principal quite a few times, teachers a few times and they were even rude to me! Recently there has been a change, the school has a new principal. She has made everything worse! I even went into the office and asked for a message to be left for her to call me and I never received a call back. This school is completely different than Leib. Everyone at Leib was polite and caring. I never had any issues. I feel like I've completely moved into a different district at Weigelstown. It's so frustrating that my husband and I are considering homeschooling. There are just so many kids in one classroom here and so many different teaching methods I honestly believe these kids are not getting the attention and help they deserve and need. If you can help it, I would not send my kids to this school.

As a parent of a child with ADHD OCD and ODD it is very to find prople willing to take the time to sit and help them. Everyone at the school has been wonderful and takes time to help my daughter and our family. Dr. K the principal is great always willing to talk when needed and will help you though any proplems if they arise.

I am a parent of a third grader at Weigelstown. Everyone works hard to make learning good for all of the students. My child's teacher (mrs. Shetter) has helped him a lot this year. I think Mrs. Kanigsberg is very nice. She gave us a tour when we moved to the school.

All of my children have attended Weigelstown. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile. The principal Mrs. K. knows every student by name! She greets the children each morning and always has a smile on her face. I love this school.

This is a good school for the most part. The principal however does not express much of a concern for the children although she puts on a great front.
